How about the other Hutson ++? And/or maybe Leonard ++? Protus??
If Washington doesn't get it done this year, don't think there's a better way to maximize Ovie's chances to get another one in the next couple years than with Quinn patrolling their blueline.

And to think Detroit could have had him for nothing.
Tho not sure it makes up for all the superstars WE could've had for nothing. Tempted to start a list just to pile on the pain.

Start with our first 2 picks in the 90 draft and who we could've taken instead.
Even with Jagr out as a choice as he wouldn't have come here.

Sorry for looking for white swan events, but my positivity is almost Blob like these days.
The odds are good Hughes will resign in Vancouver.
The odds are good Petey will be fine next season.
The odds are good Rutherford can get the three forwards he and I said this team needs this off-season.
The odds are good that the goalies and defence will be fine.
The odds are good Manny leads the team to a big bounce back.
Alls good…, and if I’m wrong, I have two words for you - Gavin McKenna!

You forgot your odds are good for winning the 649 CP.

He's right about one thing. Whatever you think will happen next year expect the complete opposite. That's how it's gone down the past two years anyway.

I do appreciate his candor.
Just outright saying that Vancouver is not on the top of many players' lists when having to compete with the US.....it's not like most of us don't realize this of course, but just the fact that he will just come out and say it is appreciated.
Explains why we get stuck with so many Europeans too.

Detroit.
Start with
Seider and shift players/picks in and out to equalize the deal.
That would be a fantastic starting point. I can imagine that would be a tough pill to cough up for that team but imagine how strong the Canucks D would look

Well Mids, Scheifele & HelleSeive signed long term in Winnipeg.
So.
Management is as Management does.

Could swear I'm watching a repeat of the 2011 Finals with Hellebuyck echoing Lu, playing well at home and completely melting down on the road and team losing trust/composure as a result.

Agreed....his struggles had me thinking of neurotic Lu as well.

He is totally Lu reincarnated, difference being no Vezinas for Lu.
Lu won Gold, we'll give him that.

Yeah. That's why it's not at the top of "many" players' list.
Hellebuyck is the 3rd highest paid goaltender in the league behind Bobrovsky and Vasilevskiy (4th after Shesterkin's boat anchor sinks the Rags next year). Winnipeg paid a premium to get him to stick around.
Scheifle is Canadian. Rutherford wasn't talking about Canadians signing in Canada.
