Thinking back on the ill fated and terrible Derek Roy trade to Vancouver, I noticed that Kevin Connauton has some pretty good numbers in Columbus (he was claimed off waivers from Dallas). Connauton has 4 goals and 3 assists in 14 games with Columbus, including a goal and two assists in a win over Boston.

Does Connauton know how to play defence?

Yeah we need our defence to improve. We already got enough guys back there serving up tasty pizzas game after game.
I hope JB and crew start testing for basic hockey IQ as part of due diligence.

You got'er Hank. Connauton wouldn't help us at all, we already have an arguably better option in Weber. I don't see how another own-zone fire drill would be any better for us. We need to clone Tanev 2 or 3 more times.

Kinda funny hearing Hab fans chant Domi, Domi, Domi.

Rhetorical comment Herb.

I've noticed CT has really found his confidence of late. Very noticeable after a little puck juggling early this year. He's also improved his first step quickness since last yea . Hopefully that helps him get out of the way of those thundering hits he's been typically absorbing to this point....

Yep but he is doing a great job for Team Canada.. Maybe Habs fans appreciate the kids talent and work ethic in spite of his parent ?

GMJB should pick Allen up as an insurance. It would be nice to see him retired as a Canuck.

What? Why? Because he's a big, old, slow defenceman who just got traded and then waived? No thanks.
He did play like two seasons in Vancouver, so I guess there is sentimentality.

Are we opening up a "Dana Murzyn" wing to the Canucks HOM (hall of medeocrity) for retiring slow defencemen??

He was drafted 4th overall by the Canucks and was a part of the package for Luongo...

So we should retire his number?
