Man I'm OD'ing on reality doses.

I have a lot of Canucklehead friends and family at all around my age range. I've been dreaming about it with them (and you guys) forever. Now that we're on the cusp of yet another rebuild, it dawned on me that this could be the last chance to get it right. Actually not that old, maybe/possibly one more if health allows. I don't care as long as I see it once before I go, but at the same time who the hell wants to celebrate in diapers and a walker? This is the one we gotta get right.

Stay positive doods... if Cubs fans can finally rejoice after a 108 drought between championships, we can endure for our first.

:D :) :(

this time this time will be for sure, girl.

Watch and learn AIG.

I get that, hard to disagree.

I just have so little that I'm clinging on to 7 spots in the draft order. Plus Hughes dissing his old team and hobnobbing with the big orange idiot after Italy rubs me the wrong way. Yeah I'm petty.

I got all that as well 'Tuzz.

But....allow me to play Devils Advocate.

Hughes may have dissed the team but did he lie?

A spade was called a spade.

If it quacks it's probably a Duck.

We kill these athletes for their monosyllablic responses to questions and then chastise them when they speak the truth as well.

Sometimes, as we all know, the truth hurts.

We're still in that jilted girlfriend phase with Hughes.

Me...I have zero hard feelings for the guy....sports has become what it is and he played his hand to get what he wanted.

Meh.

As for as Trump goes you and me win a Gold medal, throw down 6 or 8 Hi Tests (see wot) and are feeling groovy then the Prez shows up/calls, we are talking shit and taking selfies too (or chillaxing at the WH...whatever)..

...and then using that as bait to get laid most likely.

It was really just the comment about not knowing half the guys over there. He may be right but it could've been handled better I think. Trust me Donny, like you I normally don't get too caught up in these kind of things and hate it when athletes take it from fans for being honest. This time it was just so flippant, like the 8 years spent here never existed or was regrettable. Now, that said, it's totally fair to say he was simply focussed on his new team and I'm sure it'll sound much different when he returns next year. I can guarantee you that.

Whatever, he's on another team now. We've got our guys and I want to score big off their pick. So I won't be pulling for Minny anytime soon.

Gotcha and enuf said on that.

Back to playoffs as this is that thread.

Canuck fans are happy as the Stars lead the Wild.

Leo "Sundin" with 2 points already in his first ever post season game.

Sens lose a tough one...

Agreed, but one more thing I want to say about this before we get back on track...

Watch and learn AIG.

Couldn't help but point out their opposition.

Which team would be more poetic for AIG to learn from??

Oettinger though, I don't know.

Canes in double OT.

Had it in the first OT but got called back on a questionable offside.

Some bullshit took place.

Zone entry and pass for Martinook who got slashed on the attempt (worthy of a penalty shot in the regular season, maybe not in the playoffs), ref puts his arm up and indicates a delayed penalty. Play continues 6-on-5. Carolina gets some fresh legs out and scores. Reviewed and called back on an offside on the original zone entry. Canes get a penalty shot instead of a PP.

WTF?

If the clock gets reset and the offside kills play retroactively, then the offside should have been called and the scoring play negated, which should also negate the penalty entirely because the whistle should have been blown. But if you're going to still let the penalty stand, then why the change from a penalty to a penalty shot? If it was originally a penalty shot then it should have been blown dead right away.

This fucking league.

That was some double OT there in Carolina! No dropoff in energy levels as OT wore on and in fact it got more and more exciting. Best game I've seen so far and could have gone either way.

One thing I don't understand is how the penalty shot was given even though the infraction happened after it was ruled offside?

Right???

That was a great game except for that head scratcher.

As I said above.....how does a play that is cancelled become a penalty, and how does the penalty then become a penalty shot after the play has been ruled not a play and the clock reset?

Yeah I see your additional point there Mëds. All around confusing decisions from the refs. Thankfully it didn't affect the game.

Yeah. I didn't really care who won, but I sure as hell didn't want Martinook scoring on that penalty shot.

I don't think they need to blow play on continuous action. The ref was waiting for the play to end to point to center but it continued on until the goal was scored.

Only question was did the offside occur before the penalty infraction or after. I didn't see all of it so not sure of the timing.

I've never seen a penalty shot where the play continued on a delayed call.

But according to the rules, you're right.
