Scuttlebutt has Tage Thompson, Clayton Keller and Seth Jones as US ad ons from the 4 Nations club.
Adam Fox apparently out of the running.
Can we pay a premium so we don't have to watch the ad ons when we stream the games?

I think it's a well-constructed roster, strong everywhere except in goal. And we can't do anything about that.
Go Canada!

Canada roster is, of course, great. There is some intention here to understanding how forwards fit together/play special teams, and all debates here are just on the margins. The top 9 is pretty obvious.
Not sure Doughty belongs anymore, but most other legit contenders on the blue line are left shots.
Goaltending depth is irrelevant; Thompson has been great and Kuemper is solid. Binnington is getting the trip for winning the 4 nations…..

I don’t think they could’ve done better. You could make a case for Bedard, Chychrun, Scheifele, Bennett, Johnston and Schaefer.
Brayden Point’s game right now is concerning, but ya gotta think that Point will step it up at the Olympics. I’m not a huge fan of Marner, I didn’t think he was providing much at four nations other than assisting on the winning goal which seems to have given him a pass. Mark Stone was nowhere to be found at Four Nations, there’s argument for him not being added. Cooper loves his Cirelli, probably the only reason he’s there.
Considering the ages of Stone (33), Crosby (38), Marchand (37), Doughty (36), Parayko (32), Toews (31). I imagine this group will be hard pressed making it the next time. McKinnon looks like he could play another 10 years.

A couple of points on Doughty.
Experience.
Also he is a great team guy, very solid in the room.
An asset when bringing together multiple personalities from various locales.
Galvanizing.
Some reports on Horvat say that his willingness to travel post season and play the World's helped his cause when it came down to final choices.....
Solid Managerial move if so.

Doughty I’m on the fence with but he’s such a great performer in big games, I don’t think age will be a factor. I do worry about Team Canada’s age, especially - Crosby (38), Marchand (37), Doughty (36) but they are still playing pretty good hockey and it’s not a “series” tournament that could wear the older players down, for short tournaments you’re gonna have to rely on those cagey, wise and savvy veterans to lead the way.

Bill Guerin said it best “offence is fine and dandy but if you can’t check this tournament isn’t for you”. I think that is why you’re seeing the likes of Suzuki and Horvat being added and Bedard not, although Bedard has made vast improvements away from the puck, he lost out to these two as we as Bennett, he’ll be there next time. Surprised not seeing Bennett there and we know why Wilsom is there but in defence of Wilson, he’s having a good year. I think Jarvis would’ve been added if he didn’t get injured.

With the age thing Dude very small ice surface.......4 feet shorter through the neutral zone apparently.
Fewer miles for the old cronies to skate.
It's also why I think Wilson is potentially gonna kill some poor unsuspecting Euro defender as he gets to him 2 strides earlier than the norm.

I think Wilson has matured to the extent that he will know how to stay out of trouble. And, his reputation won't dog him with these referees. It all depends on how the tournament is officiated, of course. Where the line is. Bennett presents many of the same risks/rewards, but Wilson has been the better player this year. I'm glad he's finally getting a shot at this.

If they call it like they have for every other Olympic tournament, he's going to cost us bigtime.
I would've picked Bennett before they guy for sure. He knows how to draw cromags like TW into taking the penalties that cost teams medals

Stone and Wilson are both deserving of being on the team.

Bo Horvat has left the Islanders game with an injury.
I really hope it's nothing serious.

Who replaces him if he can’t go? My list
1. Bedard
2. Bennett
3. Jarvis
4. Johnston
5. Scheifele

Bedard and Jarvis are currently injured, so I'd probably give Johnston the nod.
