Byfield seems to be putting some distance between him and Lafreniere. We will see how Laff does under new coaching.

Wow, Nichushkin looking like vintage Bure on that goal.

LOL @ Duchene arguing about a switch while Moses parts the Red Sea and scores.

It's the playoffs Doosh. Instead of standing there throwing your hands up, take a penalty or do something useful instead.

If EDM shits the bed against the Kings, do y'all think McJesus and Ze German start thinking about finding a way out of asap?

Never heard that cunning term until someone coined it here.

Kuz with 5 points in 2 games. Are you kidding me. This is an example of the type of player we need and Tocchet could not handle.
The only HW the Canucks need

After the Kings’ 5th goal my wife commented that Skinner looked absolutely defeated. She doesn’t really watch hockey, but just said his body language just shouted surrender and defeat.

I have to say that, of the 5 he surrendered, only Byfield’s goal was truly weak. The rest were simply goals that he got zero help from his defense on. LA was simply allowed to get to the net too easily and from every direction. An elite goaltender probably stops 3 of those.

The Kings’ 4th goal was one that a great goaltender stops. The sort of save that your goalie makes to keep you in it after the team has battled back from 3–0 to trail by only a single goal. It wasn’t an easy save to make by any stretch of the imagination, however, all things being equal I’d say Skinner stops that 1 in 20 times…..Hellebuyck probably only stops it 12 in 20. But that’s a big difference. Hell, Grant Fuhr probably only stops a shot like that 3 out of 20 times, but all 3 of those stops would have been in a situation just like that. I’d wager that had Skinner made that save Edmonton would have rallied and tied it within the next handful of shifts.

Just truly highlights the piss poor construction of that roster. Weak blueline and average goaltending.

Do they miss Eckholm or what?

We'll see if anything changes in Edmonton, but that GAA through two games is just ugly for the D and G.

Not that the blueline has any defensive stalwarts with Eckholm out, but I dunno if it's personnel, effort or coaching. Maybe LA just has Edmonton's number this year.

Edmonton's roster construction isn't looking exemplary these days. But Edmonton fans can console themselves with replays of Draisaitl and McJesus scoring regular season goals.

LA was also the league's best home team this year - by a lot. They hard match, and get great goaltending, the road is a slightly different story.

I think Edm will make a go at it, this series is destined for 7.
