You can always sign The Wank for term then deal with Demko once you know more about his health.

If he comes around by the end of the year you know more about your asset before making that large commitment (or not)

If he continues to struggle you can probably get him to sign a 1-2 yr contract at far less or even move him along for a half decent return

Sock or not.....returning old-timer or not....

I had raised concerns about Demko's durability and the longevity of his reliability as a dependable starter a few years back.

I think that when he is healthy and playing at "game speed" what we saw last season was the norm. He's elite, one of the best in the league. However at 29 years of age, I do think we will need a reliable replacement sooner than later.

When you look at the top goaltenders in the league last year and consider their careers, none of them have missed as much time to injury as Demko.
