Oh Breezy, not a good pinch.
D has been plucky. No complaints about the effort.
Myers has been beastly, especially on the PK. CoHog penalty was stupid and dumb.
Small mistakes are killer.

So if they traded Pettersson is this how creative our forwards would look?

That PP without Hughes is butt fucking ugly.
This is on the coaches though, they shouldn't be trying to run the PP through the point when that point is manned by Soucy or Myers. Necessity dictates that one of those guys is out there right now, but then you need to change the setup down low.....wingers need to be on their off side for one-timers and to take a pass on the forehand from the point. Hitting left shot on the left wing with a pass from the point means having to receive the pass on the backhand if the pass is near the boards or if the winger needs to shield the puck from a defender. It also makes a quick return pass to the point much harder as said pass either comes off the backhand or it is through lane closer to defensive pressure and sticks.

The early goalie pull almostalways results in a goal against with over a minute top go.

Well it was a short run. But oh well.
Good early effort for the Canucks. They had lots of jump and took the play to Nashville right up until Stamkos scored.
The waived off goal also deflated them, and it was a pretty weak call.
There's no threat of a shot in the offensive zone with the wingers playing where they are. Brock, a RT shot on the RT point is absolutely zero threat to get a shot off on a pass from Myers or Soucy at the LT point. WTF are they doing?
Maybe they are tanking!!!!!

A few comments;
Tired again?
Vancouver can not win reacting to the other team (especially at home). Dictate. Forecheck was slow to non existent. Second man not going to the net as Saros gave up repeated jusi rebounds.
I believe it was Breeze-bye with the ill timed pinch and Deharais was never able to gain control of his gap to CoHo on skates for the 1st goal.
With Hughes out, what is the point of playing the same PP system. Meyers and who ever else rotates back can not control the blue line as Quinn does. Why not run the down low cycle 2 on 1 out of the corner that the the Oilers and others run where if a defender bites to help out, it leaves the slot or the backdoor open. Vancouver has plenty of guys who can rip a one timer from down low and hit the net. Opponents know that with Hughes out, they can send two defenders to the points and switch guys off and on what ever half board is near the puck.
Every slug I've encountered has been stopped in its track of slime by a spoon of salt.

They have a better record with Petey in the line up and Miller out. They actually played great hockey without Miller, oddly enough, best hockey Petey played in a while.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 9:12 pm So if they traded Pettersson is this how creative our forwards would look?

Miller only has two regulation goals since late October, and I believe those two goals were empty netters. I could be wrong.
I’d lay my chips down on Pettersson’s future here without Miller than the other way around. I believe Petey’s mental problem is the presence of Miller.
