I can't really fault Bartie for not showing up to bubble town. He wasn't remotely likely to play and besides that, his recent history of multiple concussions means he has to concern himself with preserving and maintaining brain function. I still think the LTIR is the smart move for him, but he seems to want to keep trying to play. He's more averse to the boards and the corners now than he was before but it's still risky.

Is it all happening!Cherry Picker wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 9:15 pm Armchair GMing bigly here. How about signing Toffoli and letting Marky walk. Then trading Loui for Lundquist. Lundquist might wave to come to Vancouver since he has been displaced in NY by a couple kids in net, and Vancouver has a history with Swedes. So instead of a cap hit of 6m for Loui for two more years after this one, and probably close to 6 million for Marky for multiple years (which would be around 12m all together). They could have a 8.5m cap hit from Lundquist for only one year. The Rags are going to have a hard time finding another team that can take an 8.5 million cap hit. They would save 2.5m in cap space next season and they are going to be cap tight. But they’d have to carry Louie for the following season if they can’t convince him to retire or pay Seattle to claim him in the expansion draft. The Canucks would go with Demko and Lundquist for one season and then when it is time to sign Petey and Hughes they are free of both Loui’s and Lunquist’s cap hits.
If Demko and DiPietro play well next year, the following year the Canucks could go with them. And if one doesn’t play well they could probably trade with Seattle after the expansion draft for another goalie, or sign a FA after Petey and Hughes are locked up.

Dreger saying Lundquist moving on from Rags. Jake in play.
Loui and Jake for Lundquist and a pick?

Yeah this is what I thought, Baertschi knew he wasn't going to play regular minutes or if at all, so instead of being locked up in the bubble, he chose to stay off and look towards a healthy new start elsewhere. Horvat's good lil buddy, I think he'd be a decent fit on the Sens 3rd line behind Tkachuk and Duclair if they overpay/re-sign him.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 3:48 pm I can't really fault Bartie for not showing up to bubble town. Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
Rags will buy him out apparently.
Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
Yup Lundqvist is getting bought out. I'm sure if Marky is moving on, Petey is on the phone to encourage Henrik to sign here el cheapo for a year.Cherry Picker wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 3:58 pmIs it all happening!Cherry Picker wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 9:15 pm letting Marky walk. Buyout doesn’t get rid of Loui’s contract. Damn!

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
Is that the rumour?
They must be going after Pietrangelo, and they must know its gonna cost $10mil ish. They already have $20mil in cap space, and seven roster players on their ELCs next year, so no idea what else they'll do with all that cap space.
Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
Yup it's all over social media
https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/300 ... ource-says
Petey has an admirer in Henrik Lundqvist:CapFriendly:
According to @DarrenDreger
on #InsiderTrading, all signs point to the #NYRangers buying out the final year of Henrik Lundqvist's contract.
Here's what a buyout of the future HOF goalie looks like:
2020-21: $5,500,000 (-3.0M)
2021-22: $1,500,000 (+1.5M)
King Henrik said of Petey when the Vancouver Canucks played in NY."You see, Elias is special"
Well, the new 20-year-old still impresses the environment – including Henrik Lundqvist.
– Yes, really. You see that Elias is a special player, says Rangers keeper.
– I thought he was a smart target shooter when I heard about him for the first time, but not at all. He has a real hockey brain and does everything well.

At least the Free Agent goalie depth gets a little deeper if the Canucks need another.

Comet's season, see>>Feb-28th 2020--https://streamable.com/kqvyv and Mar. 4th--https://streamable.com/u5zsv . ✔ Flying Sven!
No. I stick with the idea he should have gone for the experience of being around the team, getting in some valuable practice ice time and
remembering why he's got an NHL contract, period. Just soaking the whole thing up may have done him a world of good.
I hope the Canucks can move him without any retention on his salary or an iffy project player with a contract, even a lesser one, of his own,
coming back this way.

Thanks Micky, we're all thrilled to learn you thought Sven had "lost his passion for the game" back in July.

Well Gohmert is a Doctor. He had Ferland’s concussion problems all lined up and then said he was having panic attacks too. His gibberish is a fucking mess to read:
‘He had
A panic attack On his way
Home from work while talking on his phone and couldn’t see straight. My son’s freind
Had a similer proBlem. It was
crazy when he came to visit me in the Hospital
On Sundays and then we all had a chocolate sundae and a root beer and then I posted
on a hockey board and educated those folks’

I especially like how Gomer has to read his past posts to remember his ‘thoughts’.
It’s like a small child that has to read his journal so he can remember what bullshit to spew tomorrow. He is honestly better off eating the crayons than using them to write..
