Sounds like you`re writing Baertschi off. Personally, I think he`s got a lot of skill and has shown the willingness to do the hard stuff (even if he is faltering a bit lately). Compared with Naslunds progression I would say he is on the right track.
Do you see both those players in the top 9 of a contender?
If Sven continues to improve his point totals (maybe not to Naslund level, but 50-60 would be nice) and doesn't turn into another Mason Raymond, I can see him being a part of the new core. I don't think we need a lineup all full of big centers and hulking wingers. There's room for a few smaller skilled players who don't shy from playing along the boards.

50-60? That would be rather OK.
That should mean Bo gets what, 75-85? Cool!
Third guys gotta get 50, 60 too then, right? Alex? Freakin Awesome.

One of them most definitely as a depth piece on a Cup winning team.

Like a Carl Hagelin or a Michael Frolik type.

Bart/Bo have chemistry already, and when Virtanen is ready next season that trio will make a superb line.

Granlund on a 3rd line LW spot would suit him the best, a good combo with him would be a big brute center like Hanzal in the middle. Grans to me seems like a future Marcus Johansson (c/lw), 15g-20g, 25a-30a type in his prime.

Granlund - Hanzal - Eriksson.
OR N. Patrick. 8-)

Why you should tank this season..

Post by SKYO »

See if you tank hard this year and land the big fish, moving forward to the post Sedins era 2018/19 onwards you get.

Eriksson - Patrick - Boeser

Baertschi - Horvat - Virtanen

(big gritty winger) - Sutter - Hansen

Gaunce - Cassels - Dorsett

Cassels projects to be a Brad Richardson type.

So it's at this crucial point in this 45+ goddamn years franchise' sad history, that the team should be looking at dealing a dman for a 2017 1st + to increase the odds of landing Patty.

So I'd offer Tanev for Toronto's unprotected 1st and say Komarov to fill in that 3rd line LW spot.

Leaves (get it leaves?) our defense with:

Edler - Stecher

Hutton - Tryamkin

Juolevi - Gudbranson
(mentor/protect the rookie)

Travis Green or whatever coach should do wonders with that young and upcoming team.

Canucks 8 points ahead of the last placed, decade long, full tank rebuild, otherwise known as the Colorado Avalanche. A win tomorrow will put us ahead of the Jets and tied with the Stars and only a couple points out of the final wild card position. This team loves to play for Wilbrod and Jimbo Benning!

They can almost taste that 14th overall pick.

Will be tough pill to swallow if we don't pick top 5 - maybe just maybe we trade Hanson this weekend after his 3 goal outburst! Wouldn't that be a bold move, would definitely signal the we don't believe this group can make the playoffs- it's an impossible move to make unless the team can battle for bottom 3, if they are at the bottom it's easier from players down to management to sell the players for picks trades

Oops Benning could have done that last year....who the hell knows what thier thinking in the war room!

When you have the draft day Thief Benning running the table, it don't matter where we be picking from. He's guaranteed to steal some gems at the draft. With the exception of the unexceptional - Nolan Patrick, the 2017 class isn't a good one, in fact, it's awful. It don't matter if we are picking 5th or 15th, the usual suspect scouts and their rankings have been all over the map, and change drastically month to month, which tells you that it's a shitty class. In fact, there is nothing even close to exceptional players coming out of the next 3 drafts. The whole McDavid, Eichel, Matthews, Laine run was an anomaly of sorts. in 2018, a swedish D named Dahlen is ranked to go 1st right now, nothing spectacular, followed by a shrimp Russian named Svechnikov. Veleno and Wise are nowhere near playing at the hype they were once getting and are dropping down the rankings quickly. In 2019 it's shrimp central, a couple 5'-7" players named Hughes and Parent are getting top rankings.

Should make it easier to acquire 1st rounders then RD, and trade up to #1 oa.

Patrick is born same area as Toews and Bobby Clarke, all play a winning, gritty, heart on their sleeve Canadian game, should make a deadly combo down the middle with the Horvatian one.

The draft day thief Benning. Now I've heard it all. Is he a thief because he steals draft picks from his own organization and then deals them for waiver fodder players ? Keep the giggles coming.

Something wrong with Juolevi?

Virtanens path has been bumpy but apparently he's making good strides under Green. One would think that Jake was a Blobby type of player. It's obviously to early to pass judgment

Virtanen has been garbage in the AHL. Looks like another Colton Giliies or Kyle Beach. Imagine Nick Ritchie here who has more NHL goals than The Fake has points.
Juolevi looks great........ five years from now he might be up to 190. Meanwhile Little Walt will have scored 150 goals.

Sicilian, Juolevi is not skinny brah. And do not count out Jake the Flake, he's more naive than inherently dumb, you can teach the naive but you can't teach the dumb.
