Keep in mind that he was never a successful businessman. He just portrayed one on reality TV.

Sure, the real estate business he took over from his dad did pretty well, even under Don's leadership, but anything he has tried to create himself - airlines, casinos, Trump steaks, Trump university, etc - has been a real disaster. His lawyers (coincidentially often the same ones used by the New York mob) tend to get him out of it, but he leaves scorched earth and ruins behind him.

There is a reason US banks no longer will lend him money, and why most of his financing now comes from Russia.

My prediction for his presidency has been based on his track record; he'll probably be able to make a buck out of it for himself, but he'll destroy America in the process.

At it's peak his father's net worth was estimated to be $200 - $300 million.

(divided among his wife, 5 kids, grandchildren, etc upon his death)
