Sounds good in theory... unless your Vancouver Canucks are holding down a playoff spot at the deadline.

So if quinn hughes signs and plays out the season and they make the dance....does that mean hes ineligible for the playoffs?

Yup.
Are you sure?

I think this rule only applies to traded players. You can still make a trade after the deadline, but the player you acquire cannot play in the playoffs.

Dec 1 is the deadline for an RFA to sign.

Hughes is neither.

Fixed

Couldn’t resist. :)

12th and 20th LOL
LMAO!!! Blobbee the Pro Tank enthusiast still fantasizing a top 5 pick! Holy hell man, get with the program. Not happening. Not Happening!!!

It’s a low grade draft class at the top end, just as good players to be found between 12th and 20th.

We already discussed this one. Players need to be signed by trade deadline day to be eligible for the playoffs. Hughes wouldn't be signed until after that date.

Could be a slight injury?

No word on an injury. Not a good sign to have completely gone cold the way he has. Look at similar style WHL player Nolan Patrick who put up great numbers even in the season prior to his draft year season and then look at how Patrick is struggling in the NHL. Hell I’d say that even Michael Rasmussen is a better player than Patrick is right now but that could change. Anyhow not so sure how much worth the not so dynamic big power forward centres have in today’s game anymore.

I do like Dylan Cozens who is on fire right now but he plays a more energy style game than Dach who plays a slowed down calmer game.
