My only other question is what do we do with Tocchet?

Obviously keep him for the rest of this year (so we don't get a new coach dead cat bounce). But is he the guy to coach us at the next level?
Yeah, I actually like Hoglander’s game right now, not sure why the dog pile on Hoagie. He’s playing with some passion. I could think of a half dozen others to get rid of who are phoning it in.

I get that Hoglander is often being in the doghouse but he is a dawg player potentially - maybe Tocchet is developing not burying him? He has wheels and skill, not abundant here. In retrospect I can’t think of a better fit for EP40 since they jettisoned Kuz.

But EP40 seems to be so at sea…is it system or just an epic case of the yips plus injury

The Flames who moved on from big Z, EL and Kuz are doing as well as the Canucks who moved on from big Z, EL and Kuz. But the Flames have all these picks now...

I like Hoglander and think Tocchet does not stick with him long enough on any line for him together going. But next season he has a 3 m cap hit. Apparently there have been many enquires about him so my motivation is a quick rebuild. Get what you can and save his 3m. He actually plays well with Pettersson. In fact he and Karlsson and Pettersson had great chemistry when they played together.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter who they move out to me. Its more important that they are not buyers to me. at least no more rentals.
The only HW the Canucks need

I think last year, the thought was that the team was (over) achieving to a level that the management thought should at least be rewarded to give them a legitimate shot at a run. Hence, rentals and trades toward that goal.

I see no indications that there is a reason to 'prop' up this lineup for a run. If they squeeze in, let Aquaman get his 2 games of playoff revenue and call it a day. Build towards the next 2 or 3 years.

They certainly won’t be sellers. That’s a given. I imagine they will be buyers but not to the level of buying they did last season I.e., Lindholm’s but more like less costly buying like your Zadorov’s. I’m hearing the Canucks are most likely going to run with Boeser hoping they can sign him in the off-season. I expect Soucey to be traded and a couple later round picks, maybe a lower end prospect.

No idea why Carson Soucy is a problem. He's a solid 5/6 guy. From all accounts, very well liked. Let Little EP cook a bit longer. Defensive depth is a good thing.

Zero chance this will happen of course, Canucks will be buyers and we once again is mortgaging our future for today.
BB is not bringing back ‘a haul’.

Be lucky to get a first and another asset.

Its why they are most likely keeping, Boeser. Some are starting to refer to Boeser as a rental - to us. The short sightedness of our management under the “watchful” eye of the Aqualini’s shall and forever continue to plague this organization on…and on…and on…and on…

Someone needs to push back. Gillis tried and got fired. Elmer reached for his flask. Randy Bo Bandy made himself another cheeseburger with donut halves for buns. I think Rutherford will quit before he takes direction from Fredo.

We can use some scoring - should we just keep him up for the rest of the year?
The Vancouver Canucks have recalled Jonathan Lekkerimäki. The club also reassigned Arshdeep Bains to AHL Abbotsford.

Lekkerimaki is almost too good for the AHL, his cooking time must be coming to a finale soon.
