Quite so.
To this end....the Oilers have a little less than 8 mill invested on netminding for next season (Jarry and Campbell buy out).

Depending who they sign their nut for keepers could rival ours on the suckage meter.

With the McD and Draisaitl end of season presser comments yesterday those 2 are both displeased as well as very much aligned.

They also have a shitload of pull despite their contracts should they choose to pressure Oiler Management.

Could be an extremely interesting off season in Oil Country.

But really, how can they make any significant moves? They have no draft capital, their prospects pool is almost non-existent and the pieces they do need to trade (like Nurse), are not attractive to any potential trade partner, without attaching assets (such as picks or prospects), which they don't have. They may be able to make some minor moves, but they won't move the needle much for them. That franchise is on the verge of another decade of doom (and I will enjoy every minute of it).

The Oilers may have just displayed the worst Management processes involving the 20 age years of a generational player in the history of the league.
who the hell are we to talk??!?

We were trying to catch up with the wreck of the Hughes (Sure, not the best player in hockey, just the best player we have ever had)

I mean, I guess some are just feeling the burn after losing the title belt..

Yeah, not sure of your point MCPilot.

Not feeling any burn at all bro.

I have led the pack critiquing our merry band of idiots all year and then some.

Matter of fact 'twas I who penned the TFG's moniker way back...

So I can't criticize the Oil??

Just saying out managament had the championship belt of worst 'TFG' guys ever. Now the Coilers can have that title.

I can see your point, MCP, as our crew has tarded a lot, but we also have not had the plethora of gifts from the hockey gods/league that the Coilers have. In fact, the hockey gods/Bettman have actively worked against us. Not an excuse, just acknowledging we started farther from the start line than the Coilers

Ffs, all they needed to do (and can still do) is get 3 shut down/ competent dmen (boards n out boys), and a goalie. Hell, if they traded Bouch for the package above, they would be a better team, and, he is worth more than that. They have the blueprint from the 80's staring at them. But they never committed to building a championship team. Instead every year they went for the shortcut. And as Bobby Bare Jr sang, "Every corner that you cut reaches out and cuts you back ". The Oilers have hundreds of self inflicted cuts. And that's why I enjoy their misery.

These Fucking Guys

Vs

Those Fucking Guys

Nod goes to the latter given the reasons stated.

As bad as our clowns fucked things up, nor can we ever diminish what they did, we're kidding ourselves if we thought we ever had a realistic shot at it.
