At the end of the day, he simply failed to woo.
Rikster will not like this trade, though. No siree.

Megs - you saw him more than anyone here - did he deserve a callup? Should we feel sad for him?

I mean, sure, he was a good organizational soldier for so many years. Teammates loved the guy; the team used to go to Jett's parents' Chinese restaurant whenever they were in Winnipeg to play the Moose. Personally, I would have given him a game somewhere along the way for sentimental reasons.
Was he ever going to be an NHL player? No.

Thanks - that was the impression I had of him - I hope he gets a chance for a few in San Jose.

He deserved ONE cup of coffee after 8 years. Just one WOOd have been nice.
Sends a message to your prospects that there's a chance... however Jim Carrey dumb n dumber chance that might be.
If you've given Breezeby that many looks or local hero Arshdeep that many undeserved opportunities... I just don't get it. There have been many times you could have given the kid a day of joy... it's not like this team was fighting for playoffs for most of that time.
Bring the kid up for CNY and sell a bunch of jerseys. There are enough people of his ethnicity in this city that would have gladly given some of their money to Frank.
ONE game. It doesn't say you believe in this prospect. It doesn't say he has a future here. ONE game to skate in warm ups.
PO Joe, Mark Friedman, Riley Stillman... I can keep going.
These fucking guys are clearly braindead.

Ya that is my opinion as well. He was an Abbey warrior for sure and so excited when drafted by the Canucks. With all the shit hockey we have played these past 2 seasons the least they could have done is give him that one NHL game. I admit I never got to see him play so I have no idea how bad/good he is/was. In the preseason I thought he deserved a look see. But now we have two new righties in Abbey. Younger but not sure if there is much there there.

It is supposed to be a hockey club. Not a fucking Starbucks.

Yes, it's supposed to be a hockey club but it sure isn't being run like one, is it?
You have unqualified baristas that keep fucking up the drinks, so you keep giving them more hours? As a business, you would be trying to improve by seeing if you have better employees... you have to give them a shift to find out.
Just like you don't try to continue with the same old when you have someone who hasn't performed for 24 months. This is why we're the worst Starbucks franchise in the league.

It's supposed to be a winning culture. Winning teams don't treat their feeder systems like shit.

13th forward, 7th defenseman carried around riding the pine each game. Shows up everyday, works hard in practice and never complains about ice time.
Injury hits, finally gets a chance to play and someone gets a call up to ride the pine with the big club.
Fans complain the call up doesn't get to play over the guy who has been doing the work to stay on the team.
Earn your way up.

I agree with Tops here. If getting promoted from the farm was seen as a marketing/popularity contest/participation prize, I can't imagine the players having much respect for it - or the organization employing it. A consistent, merit-based approach would motivate the youngsters far more than otherwise.
