There's no need to re sign Suter.

I think you re-sign Suter depending upon what he wants. If he wants more than the 2.5 that O'Connor got then ya I think yo can let him go. But if you are trading everyone out at the TDD then he would fetch a respectful return from a playoff team wanting to add bottom 6depth.
I don't advocate tanking the season. If we are still in the playoff hunt you need to give the guys the pieces to go as far as they can. I really only advocate trading Boeser, if you know you can't/won't re-sign him. Soucy can wait until the summer. Forbert is a useful piece but not worth much in a trade. Suter is valuable to us but likewise won't gather much past a 2nd in a trade. I don't think we blow it up, tweak what we need to. don't make a splash and be a buyer this year. But do move out the most valuable rental we have.
Agreed on Lankinen and Demko. Get Lankinen re-signed and see what next year brings for Demko.

Suter won't command so much to sign but fills in up and down the lineup quite well for the cost. He's an actual Swiss army knife lol

Unless management has their eyes on upgrades through free agency, re-sign him if his demands will fit. It's not like Raty's knocking on the door to replace him quite yet. He's good depth to have in the line-up - especially at centre.

Ownership is going to love not having playoff revenue while still paying Scooter's $11.6M and having a rebuild of sorts yet again.

Oh well, look at it this way.
Scooter's 11.6 will have Thatcher's 5 mil around with him on the shelf to keep him company.

Are they not going to make the playoffs this year? You got any tips on the lotto numbers Wiebo?

Man this thread is bleak.
Y’all need to heed some Alfred E. Neuman advice - What Me Worry?
I already told ya how this season was going to play out.
The Canucks are going full Lou Lamoriello on their way to a cup this year.
Demko will be back for the playoffs even if ya’ll are already writing him off.
Petey is playing solid defence, the Canucks don’t need no stinkin’ goals from him.
They’re going to win all their games 1-0 or 2-1 from here on out with a different hero every night.
No one is trading Demko or Petey or Brock. They’re all here for an outstandingly boring playoff run.
Book it!

So even though Huge is back at practice Team USA has been notified that he has not been medically cleared to play on Thursday, so Huge not going to Boston. Sorry for him but glad for the Canucks.

The same guy clapped his paws like a seal from beginning to end of the monstrosity contracts of Eriksson, Beagle, Roussel, Sutter, Del Zotto, Luca, Schaller. Called them the placeholders. Now he's been on pettersson since he signed. He is out to lunch in Greenweird.
Cap space and dollars matter.
Wiebo...... cap space ALWAYS matters

Yeah I missed all that Blob. That's why I don't always pick up on the internal politics and and old rivalries here. That era was a dead zone for the franchise I can certainly agree.
I'm not doing cartwheels about the present group either, mind you. I still think we're doomed to perma failure under this ownership, they asren't ever going to wise up and hire outsite help to set up the hockey department. It's have a beer with the alumni and go with your gut over and over.

So now we know Rutherford is the leak. He has been talking out of school and got this all fired up. I wonder if keeping the locker room a safe place is in reference to that? It is a confusing comment to me. Wonder if Allvin will pull a Benning and start whispering into Aquilini's ear to get Rutherford retired.
Really?
