Do you think this would work for our owners?

It's definitely worth a shot

Whatever the case, I hope that Myers waives and gets traded. It will be super uncomfortable if he insists on staying, especially as there are rumours that Detroit is offering a 2nd.

I didn't have Myers as a likely trade target mostly because I didn't think teams would covet him that much. He's a solid bottom pairing character guy who I wouldn't mind keeping around but that's because I assumed he would net a 3rd round pick at best. Sounds like interest is much higher than I expected. I hope for both the Canucks and his sake, he accepts shortly and they net a solid return.

I'll wish him well. Yes he was overpaid on his first deal but he had some decent years and seems like a great teammate that was committed to this city.

And if he agrees to waive he would be doing the organization a solid, unlike Sundin.

Lukas Reichel has, apparently, disappeared.

The McCallum treatment would be quite apropos given the state of the franchise ownership has left the fans with.

Tciso, “Allegedly”… someone who has the skill set to drive a combine was the one who donated that pile of shit.. and to be fair, it was dumped on the neighbours lawn as “allegedly” someone had the wrong address.

Well I hope they scratch him on Saturday if a trade is not yet completed.

Dregger now reporting that Brock Boeser is willing to waive his NMC if the fit is right for he and his fiancé.

Also being reported that Debrusk is interested in moving on but has not asked for a trade.

Looking like only Hronek maybe interested in staying for a rebuild. Although that could change in the off season. He may not be interested in a mid season move.

Who knows if this is all media drivel at this point or if there is now a feeling of wanting to jump ship from a lot of players.

I’m guessing some of the older guys with term & NMCs were just waiting to see if ownagement is actually committed to a full rebuild as opposed to another short term retool before they consider anything. The fact they’ve already asked Myers to waive should be a clear enough indication, so not too surprised to see Brock open up literally the day after.

The writing was probably on the wall the day Quinn got shipped. For the older guys who just signed long term it didn’t hurt to wait it out a few more months to know for sure. Other than Hronek I’m not too surprised to see these guys wanting out now.

Not that the floodgates have officially opened just yet but it’s certainly looking that way. Like you said this could all be media noise so let’s see how it plays out this week.

I would expect the Myers deal to get done as well as the UFAs. Not sure they can get everyone done in the short timeframe, but if they can squeeze another deal or two out of the group of Boeser, Petey, Jake & Gar and save the remainder for the offseason, that would be a tidy piece of business.

Christ at this rate they will have to sit half the team before the TDD.

Too obvious? The NHL head office could catch on that way.

I can’t see it. Detroit is turning some heads, but does anyone think they are actually a contender? They are also in the east and I suspect Myers would prefer to stay in the west.

IMHO, Dallas and Colorado are the likeliest spots he would go to.
