That was almost as depressing as liatening to a canucks game. Too bad for the kids. Would have been nice to them make a push.

At least the Comets did not get swept. They have shown a lot of characters to come back and force a game 5 from 0-2 in the series.

I guess that's the kind of optimism that has allowed you to survive as a Canucks fan.

Comets 0 - Marlies 4 :(

Was good play off experience for the prospects though. Demko & Goldobin are progressing. Dahlen's game looks like it will translate to the small ice fine.

Petrus Palmu nominated for the Liiga Jarmo Wasama Memorial Prize for Best Achievement Award.
This year, the nominees for the Wasama Prize are (candidates in alphabetical order):

Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Aces
Petrus Palmu, TPS
Jonathan Tanus, SaiPa
Previously won by Patrick Laine, Olli Jokinen and Petri Skriko (and a littany of jobbers) according to Wikipedia.

EDIT: Okay, some other NHLers in that list from Wikipedia... I'm a bit out of touch with non-Canucks.

Yup. So if you go check his awards per season at eliteprospects.com, you'll find this:

2017-2018
SHL Best Plus/Minus (+27)
SHL Champion
SHL Forward of the Year
SHL Most Goals by Junior (24)
SHL Most Points (56)
SHL Most Points by Junior (56)
SHL Most Valuable Player
SHL Playoffs MVP (Stefan Liv Memorial Trophy)
SHL Rookie of the Year
U20 WJC Silver Medal

And of course he may still get a medal at the world championships.... 8-)

Good on Palmu. Be nice to see him win the Finnish rookie of the year award. He’s had a good season and it explains why the Canucks want him in Utica next season. He is small but in a brick shithouse kinda way.

The type that needs a lot of time to develop - TBL style they got a few small guys up front but let them develop for years in the AHL like Yanni Gourde and Tyler Johnson.

Oh yeah this guy is a beaut. When he returns and you know he will, draft Dobson, Juolevi comes around, trade Tanev for Liljegren we are the envy of the league in D
