That is something I'll agree with. "talking politics" used to be fun - now it's just trip down a road most sane people don't want to take.

Like I've said before, I'm a straight, white guy who's not poor - so this really doesn't affect me in any way. It's the rest of people I see getting screwed over that makes me pay attention.

Edit: and I'll add this and then stay out of this damned thread for a while... I've considered trump a horrible human being since I've been aware of him (80s?). He's done nothing to change my mind, and I'm not expecting him to.

Yeah, a billionaire businessman that has consistently screwed over the "little guy" at every opportunity is suddenly going to look after the interests of the same people he's spent his life fucking over. That's brilliant. If anything, he's diverted the swamp towards Mar-a-Lago.

Personally, I think a good chunk of Trump "supporters" just want to see the reaction he generates. American Politics is a hoot.

Since Trump made it to the highest office in the land and I am a lowly teacher working in a foreign land, I’m not to going to disparage his intelligence.

But he has the emotional intelligence of a child and that’s goddamn scary when he holds the title commander in chief.

He can either fuck up the US or make it a better place to live I don’t mind either way, but when he puts his clown shoe into international politics we all suffer.

Maybe a one World government would fix this right up... yah that’s a great idea all for one and one for all and that rot

Just got back from a few days at the resort at Harrison.

It's hilarious how some people are in a state of SHOCK when someone seemingly defends POTUS.

The other night 'round about 10 PM a chap in the outdoor hot springs pool started going off on Trump.

(to anyone who could/would listen)

(I say "could" because two-thirds of the people there understood very little English)

(a lot of folks from Asia and Europe)

Funny thing was this guy was very likely the only completely sober person in the pool.

(he mentioned later that he doesn't drink... a true health nut)

So I hit the guy with a comment or two (hey he was very loud!).

And he right away goes "Are you kidding me, Trump is as bad as Hitler!!"



Me: "Are you aware Adolph Hitler was a mass-murderer?"

Him: "Just give Trump a little time!"

Me: "But you said he is as bad as Hitler... now you're saying he will become as bad as Hitler?"

Anyway... it worked, the guy stopped ranting about President Trump.

(although he did start to defend North Korea for a few minutes before losing that debate as well)

(then he switched to the evils of alcohol - even one drink! - and how most food we eat is poison)

This has nothing to do with what you were saying Corn, it's just I saw "Hitler" and it reminded me...
