Watching the fast paced and gritty style of playoff hockey these last few games makes me think Jake Virtanen would thrive in these style of games.....dare I say better than what mr no show William Nylander is currently showing.
The Hitman has wheels, dude even outskated McDavid the fastest man on earth on skates.
I’ve stated this on other forums and got ridiculed but I agree wholeheartedly with this, Jake was made for playoff hockey.

Elias with a goal and an assist so far in game 3. Vaxjo leading 2 - 1 heading into the third.

Wow he’s just killing it. When will Sweden announce that he is on the WC team in Denmark ? I can’t see how he isn’t on that roster

Elias seals it with an empty better... 4-1
I think they won't (can't?) name him to the WC roster until the playoffs are done. Which won't be long

I see Bret beat me to reporting on this game.
Elias is having a crazy good playoffs performance.
He had 14 points in 11 games before this three point game.
Now he is 17 for 12! That's a 1.42 PPG rate! In the playoffs!
The future's so bright I've got to wear shades!

Just killing it.
So much potential for success in the NHL.
Trying to narrow it down.
Right now I think he’ll fall somewhere between Nedved and Gretzky.
Fucking Don Cherry wearing a Marlies jacket tonight on Coach's Corner!
Typical

Just to make sure there is no discussion about who to name playoffs MVP, Elias just scored his second goal of the game, which means Växjö is ahead 2-0 in game four and well on their way to a clean sweep.
This brings him to 19 points in these playoffs, which of course (yawn fart) is a new record for a junior in the Swedish championship playoffs. The previous record (18 points) was set in 2015 by Axel Holmström. Before that the record was held by two guys called Daniel and Henrik who scored 14 points each in the 2000 playoffs.
Yeah, you get the picture.

Oh, and I forgot; he's not just the leading pointsscorer of the playoffs.
He now has ten goals, and is of course the leading goal scorer in these playoffs as well.
Six minutes remaining of the second period.
I'm convinced he'll get a hat trick in this game as well. Just because.
This whole thing is beginning to feel ridiculous.

I'm going to stick my nose out and venture a guess that Elias Pettersson has a pretty good chance of being named SHL rookie of the year.
