I hope the Bruins had it in their heart to at least give then assistant GM Jim Benning some colouring books, etcha sketch and LEGO to keep him busy for those 5 years until they won the cup in 2011 because according to Blob he did sweet fuck all in those 5 years

He played with mark Benning, Jim’s brother, chia was heavily involved with bruins prior to being officially hired. Who do you think he talked to regarding that draft? You think maybe he talked to his future assistant gm the guy that was running buffaloes amateur group and draft (also one of the most successful drafting teams during his tenure there), and maybe that guys dad who scouted lucic quite heavily. Ask widow what people in the industry think about Benning. There’s a reason Burke gushes on and on about Jim.

I don’t know who he scouted, who he drafted or is exact influence in Boston. I do know Lucic was upset he left Boston and said Benning’s departure made it possible for him and other guys to contemplate leaving someday. Lucic said Benning was more influential and responsible for helping to assemble their Cup winning team than he was ever given credit for. Felt he was one of the hardest workers and most knowledgeable men in the game, highly underrated by those that didn’t know him. Described him as humble and not needing the attention and recognition others did.

But what do I know.
The only HW the Canucks need

The point is Marchand, Bergeron, Rask, Thomas, Lucic and Kessel were all there before Elmer got to the organization. Pasta, Carlo, MacEvoy we’re drafted after he left. I felt the need to keep banging away at that in response to the board troll that beats a dead horse daily about Mike Gillis. He will probably blame Gillis ten years down the road out of sheer stupidity.

Trade wise after Jimmy was hired July 17, 2007 to 2011 TDD:

Acquired:
Carl Soderberg
Johnny Boychuk
Mark Recchi
Patrick Eaves
traded Kessel for 1st (Seguin), 1st (Dougie Hamilton), 2nd.
Daniel Paille
Gregory Campbell
Nathan Horton
Chris Kelly
Tomas Kaberle

All key depth pieces and key players to surround their core to eventually win the 2011 Stanley Cup.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

And not one of those guys was part of that core that won or the current core. I only bring that up because the urine soaked troll has repeated thousands of times that Eye Bags had zero to do with building the 2011 Canucks.

As an aside how was the Bruins drafting other than an obvious layup in 2010 that landed Tyler Seguin? And really according to the urinator picks that get traded from other teams don’t count (see Bo Horvat).

I say all this as someone who thinks Benning has done a pretty decent job since the calendar turned into 2017. The Beagle, Gudbranson and Gagner signings are the only black marks since then. The Miller trade was overpayment but certainly ballsy and Miller was a decent target.

Lol so by that rationale Lappiere, Rome, Alberts, Malhotra, Glass and Higgins were big pieces of the 2011 Canucks run

Blob bending over backwards in an lame attempt to give Jimmy zero credit for his team's Stanley Cup win 2011.

Not even close Bubbles, compare the Bruins team link provided with Canucks:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010%E2%8 ... cks_season

Then go to NHL.com and compare minutes played by those Canucks to the Bruin players Jimmy brought in.

No offense but you're making an arse of yourself, just give Jimmy credit and move on...

Absolutely. You can also give Eye Bags credit as well

Injuries destroyed the Canucks. I forgot to mention Eye Bags also brought in the team’s best D man in Hamhuis, another top 4 in Ehrhoff, Tanev, a 30 goal scorer in Samuelson, and top 9 forwards in Higgy, Lapierre, Manny and Torres. So he had a bit to do with it regardless of what the urinator says.
