I keep sending in texts for Donny “1970’s” Taylor on 1040 asking about the glory days of hanging out with Al Davidson, Greg Douglas, Jim Coleman, Kenny Gilchrist, John McKeachie, Jim Taylor, Barry Houlihan, Bernie Pascall down at Trader Vic’s but he keeps ignoring me

Houlihan got a press flight with the US Navy Blue Angels on Thursday press day at the 1988 Abbotsford Airshow.
They always start the same way. Take-off, full afterburners, travel straight for a couple thousand feet down the runway then
pull up, straight up, in a six-G climb. There's usually bets on who pukes and who doesn't.
He was supposed to go at 1pm but they were behind. He kept munching on stuff in the press area. (drinking a bit too).
He had a show to prepare for and he couldn't wait much longer. He said Mick: You want the ride? I can't wait much longer.
I said no, I've done it a few times and I gotta go up in another flight soon. give it to that cute lady over there---, Right at that
point, they grabbed him and said suit-up right now, your up.
Flight takes about 16 to 18 minutes. He was back in 12. The pilot said I've never had anyone puke that much! What a mess.
I had taken pics of him getting in cause he asked me to. I took them when he got back and climbed out too. Gross.

One night (decades ago) I dropped $300 on dat dere... "Gimme more of that blue shit" I kept saying.

Barry Houlihan used to get Howie all worked up too. The Canucks were so bad then but I used to laugh at that shit. Pascall was an absolutely horrible broadcaster though. So wooden, much like Gary Monahan or later Dave Thomlinsen.

I remember a post-game interview McKeach had one night with Tiger Williams.

The Canadiens were in town and they beat our Canucks.

Tiger was already in a foul mood and then stupid McKeach started saying good things about the Habs.

Tiger snapped big time, going off about all the "Frog-lovers" in Vancouver and that McKeach is one of them!

He was threatening to beat the crap out of him right there+then and I honestly thought he was going to do just that.

He was foaming at the mouth his last little while on 1040, I knew something was up with his passing, not surprised to be honest. It was the coke habit that put him at Fentynals door, he sounded like a coke head on air
