Jonathan Dahlen playing awesome on the Comets, playing like a NHL playoff performer already.

Powering through defense, Crosby-esque.

Lol, apparently Dahlen is dominating. 1 goal and an apparent beauty assist in the first period and playing 4th line minutes

Lol! Yeah, that's trade mark Ulf Dahlén skating!

He was once a young gun himself on the 1987 Björklöven team that won the championship

Dahlen strikes me as a really crafty player with some solid grit in his game as he slices that little seam in the dirty area to pop the goal and the robust nature to fight off two defenders to create a scoring chance. It's looking like he might be in the line up opening day if he continues with these types of efforts. Perhaps Mono and moving back to Timra was a blessing in disguise. What about our Swedish boys they both had epic years with huge accomplishments, Dhalen and Pettersson have some serious mojo going on after their seasons, with Elias still finishing his story starting on Tuesday.

Damn it's hard to temper the enthusiasm on these two.

Really shows the talent in the Sweden’s men league is right up to par with the ahl.

Dahlen really impressed me at the 2017 WJC. Kept thinking "who is this guy". A real opportunist goal scorer and had no problem going to the dirty areas to get the goal, a bit of a ballsy sniper. A real puck hound. Quite surprising the Senators gave up on him, must've really wanted Burrows

It's not often you see a team fuck-up so bad in one short year.

He was but his play got the team into the first tier.

For sure, just quite encouraging that even at the second tier level Dahlen can translate his skill well to the AHL level. I mean it's been 1 game but he didn't look out of place!

Also really encouraging for Pettersson as well.

2018 camp is looking to be a gooder!

Sure. Conventional wisdom is that the AHL has better offence but the SHL has better defence.
So if a guy like Dahlén can shine against Swedish d-men.....

Also, the AHL is more physical, so it rewards size over skill, whereas in the SHL it is the reverse.

Of course, to make it on the NHL, you usually have to check all the boxes.
Not worried about Dahlén and Pettersson. They are the real thing.
They both may need some time to adjust though, so don't expect them to be superstars right away.
Neither were the Sedins. But you could see their talent from day one, and eventually they got there.
And then stayed there.

Oh, and Dahlén and the AHL? Of course he can shine there!

The best Swedish players would be stars in the AHL and the best AHL players would be stars in Sweden.
Except, a slow punishing blueliner could be a star in the AHL, but not the SHL, and a smallish forward with great hands will do better in Sweden than in the AHL. But Pettersson is not smallish, he just needs to bulk up a bit. He will play on the Canucks' first line in due time.
