Even last we have a 27% chance at no.1
53% chance at 2nd
And 17% chance at 3rd pick
Or thereabouts…
I think it's 26.3% at 1st, 19.3% second, 54.4% third.

Foote will not likely be the coach when it comes time for the new core to compete, but he may be the coach that gets them there from here. Perhaps a signal from management to Foote that development takes precedence over wins, and just manage the effects of the losing will give Foote the freedom of maneuver to run the bench accordingly. He does have a reputedly good track record of working with kids from his days in Kelowna, which is something he can tap into. It will likely come in handy with the influx of kids coming into an already young roster.
I agree that if Foote is considered a good teaching and skills development coach, this is the right approach.
He just needs to listen to some old AV interviews about "process" and "playing the right way" to develop his media relations skills.

Watching the game last night, I took note of the Bluegers-Ohgren-Lekkerimaki line and it was evident the chemistry between Lekk and Ohgren. It will be interesting if coaching and management can trial lining them up with a more skilled young centre and see what they can do as a scoring line. I get that Bluegers was the defensive safety net for the kids, but maybe putting Chytil between them might be worth a shot.
Moving forward, perhaps Cootes can fit in with them. If nothing else, perhaps they can develop into a credible second line once they get their feet under them as NHL pros.

I'm not seeing Ohgren as a scoring line threat at this level/period of his development. Guy can skate, shoot hard (not accurately) and is an obvious physical specimen.
I've just seen him flub, miss, and badly read a lot of chances - he is getting opportunity, just zero finish.
Key example of likely being best for his development to be in the minors, and he would be with a better team. I just hope they aren't killing these kid's long term outlook.

Yes this is my concern. Would like them to trade some vets, clear some cap, weaponize that cap by bringing back some older vets with expiring contracts or 1-2 year term at the most. Send all players down with waiver eligibility and let Manny work with them.

Like how the lockout allowed Kesler, Bieksa, Burrows, and Auld to stew in Manitoba for a year

Jets and Flames win and Canucks get a single point.
Canucks -13
Rag and Blues next worst now at -6
