Girls...DeRedux Version

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

One of my favorite authors as well. I think I've read most, if not all, of his Far East epics. Enjoyed every one.

Agree, read them all as well.

All great books with some elevated well beyond that.

Have never been able to decide whether his "goat" was Shogun, Tai Pan or Noble House for me.

Regardless all as good as it gets for in depth, historical, entertainment style reading.

My first exposure to Clavell was as a kid watching the Shogun miniseries with Richard Chamberlain. Haven't watched the remake.

Racks are overrated Cuz.

The mini series with Anna Sawai & famed Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada (Westworld) was quite good I agree Mëds.

You get used to the subtitles.

It's a more "real" feel the way they did it this time.

Superior to the Chamberlain series (which I also enjoyed at the time however)....

Season 2 of Shogun is set to be released in early '27 and will commence 10 years beyond the end of the book (and Season 1).

Surprising. I had read that there was never a plan for a second season because season 1 was the entire book.

The lack of Ms Sawai is going to be hard to make up for.

Yes, agree lol, no Anna is a negative.

I am looking forward to seeing her portrayal of Yoko Ono however, as she was very good as Mariko.

As far as Shogun 2 goes it is a confirmed go and already cast.

Although I suppose the current US Administration's views vis a vis the entertainment industry could impact things.

Shogun series two starts filming in the LML in the new year. It’s going to be a massive production, I am told.

One of the better series to come out in recent memory.

Yeah, agreed BoS, really enjoyed it.

I quite like Hiroyuki Sanada in the various roles I have seen him in over the years.

Many films but also TV productions like:

Shogun
Westworld
Helix

...to name a few.
