At the price those guys won't want to lock in past this season. Thats the beauty. No need to go longer than one year.

Yeah it's a short season anyway, flat cap, not a lot of money available, sign a one year with a good fast team and cash in the offseason.

Haven’t we been down this road with “gritty old school” D-man before? Gudbranson? Benn? I got news for you - they don’t work in today’s NHL.

Whether we pick up a spare, cheap defender short term or not, there will still be periods of time when we will most likely be short handed.
It's almost inevitable. This hybrid, condensed season will no doubt hit defenders the hardest, league wide. I hope Juolevi is as ready as the team
thinks, hopefully his farm days are over...
Also, at about six months older than Quinn Hughes, we have Jack Rathbone. Five foot eleven, 190 pounds. I think this guy is for real and he
should be kept around if he shows well at camp. When first interviewed in July right after he signed, he sounded like he was ready for the big show.
I seriously doubt anything positive can be accomplished by farming him in Utica which may not even have a proper season anyway. Keep him in the cab!

Old Ron Hainsey might hold up for one more year even at age 39. He's a lefty that has played a lot of right side and has maintained a decent level of play up to last season. Could possibly work for one year in a platoon situation with Benn and one or two of the kids.

Just a heads up to everybody, in the event we do sign Hamonic.
Got some great hambone gifs already lined up for the live game threads
I'm hoping it's enough to persuade Benning to make the deal.
You know. If he's still sitting on the fence...

Holy shit. If we have to put up with those gifs, please don’t sign Ham Bone. Just go with the prospects.
