I think the report was that they are looking for an impact, top six kind of guy. I don't think Garland does it for them (let alone Hoglander).
It's a shame he wouldn't waive (or maybe the short move and lack of state income tax changes things) but given the report they wanted to move Wright in a package for said impact player, I would love to kickstart our rebuild with a move centered around Elias Petterson for Wright and Seattle's 1st this year. Seattle actually have the cap space to pull the trigger on that deal alone, but I assume they'd want to dump some salary on us and I'd definitely try to shake some other picks loose as well (they hold Tampa's 1st this year and next, for eg).

....and invoices.
Who would have ever seen it coming that tickets to a game versus an original 6 team would have gone unwanted. Boggles the mind that one.

Funny enough, I don’t think I’d prefer Wright over Petey. For all the things I haven’t liked about Petey’s attitude and persona, since we drafted him, from the little I know of him, I think Wright would be more universally disliked here.
Wright would have to be their cap dump and the real pieces more attractive.

I'd absolutely take a flyer on a still young, 4th overall pick. As Leves pointed out, those stats aren't bad considering how many top 10 picks don't even get that many NHL games in their careers.
I don't see how this hurts us if we were to take a gamble... provided what we have to give up is reasonable.
If Chef reads this, I bet even he would make adjustments on Wright.

Cap dump?
He's still on entry level no?
Why does 40 enter this conversation....
6 foot 200 lb right handed centre.
Wright was quite good last year...19 25 44 in 79GP @ 21 y/o.....change of scenery...who knows.
You still hold the draft day thing against him?
Yeah, you are correct. He would be a borderline reclamation project of our own though as he will be 23 this year, his development has been slow.
Subpar and inconsistent until last year, which was decent as you point out. This year he's struggling again. I'll admit, after the last 8 years with EP40, I'm gun shy to take a chance on a player that clearly had some head issues (which is what I think is the crux of Pettersson's struggles).....in Wright's case they seemed to manifest after dropping in the draft.
40 enters this because dbr mentioned this as a trade centered around Pettersson for Wright and Seattle's 1st.
