I feel like Skyo's been slipping on cooking up trade ideas.
C'mon bro, what you got? We got our PPQB but D is still a weak spot (possibly losing two of the top 4 to UFA over the next year), what are we doing about it?

Please get one of your kindergarteners to read the part in red to you.Todd Bersnoozi wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 11:37 pmThen change the title of this thread to: "Only reliable trade rumour thread", until then, bugger off and let us chat about whatever we want.Strangelove wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 12:34 pm I totally get what you're saying Re: "Why so serious this is a fantasy thread".
And listen, I'd have no problem if you were to post something like "Hey guys, how bout we bring the Sedins back, h'yuk!"
I mean I'd roast the everloving shit out of you for it... but I wouldn't question your right to say it!
However, this fucking Canucks messageboard... like all fucking Canucks messageboards
... believes in distinguishing reliable rumours from utter hogwash.
And please stop linking to idiot kids.
Your cooperation in these matters would be greatly appreciated.

So, during their retirement ceremony, it was commented that the twins are still in amazing shape. Someone asked if the would consider playing. one of the twins Said cardio was no problem, but they lacked body mass..
With the entire league loosing body mass as everyone sits, a person has to wonder if they could put the mass back on, sign a one year deal, and play some fourth line minutes for a playoff run.
They can boost Erickson and Motte out of the lineup

lol hey man, it's coronavirus time, shits on lockdown.
But I'm more thinking these days about Toffoli and how to go about re-signing him, I think it's imperative as Boeser (bless his heart) gets injured a lot like a Salo or Tanev, sure he might get a couple 80+ games in a couple seasons, but it looks like he'll get injured 10-15 games per year, which is a lot of points missed if we don't have another sniper to help out.
This is where the plot thickens with a one Jake Virtanen issue and his contract, it's only a issue as we likely have a more talented power forward in Podkolzin starting in 2021, maybe he can play LW, but it appears he prefers to play RW....but IF we can convert him to a LW then it's a non-issue, re-sign JV 3-4 years at a cheaper AAV, then he can be a UFA after that or we can utilize him as a trade bait in a year or two to a) improve the defense or b) gain some picks.
2021/22 season top 9.
Miller Pettersson Toffoli
Podkolzin Horvat Boeser
Hoglander Gaudette Virtanen
(sutter, pearson UFA's that offseason), Seattle imho will take one of Roussel or Beagle -> good soldiers to help with their build, they seem like an expansion type player grab, hard working vets.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

So you want to keep Toffoli over Boeser....but then who do you target in a Boeser trade bro???SKYO wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 2:56 pmlol hey man, it's coronavirus time, shits on lockdown.

I know Dumba isn't going to hack it for you, and I'm kind of moving off the idea of trying to acquire an elite offensive Dman if Boeser is traded. Now I'm more thinking elite young shutdown dman (Tanev's replacement) plus a 1st (under no circumstances would I add anything to Boeser to get a shutdown dman, and I sure as shit wouldn't give up a 1st or prospect [hello Ballard]).

Here's a pipedream based on a sketchy rumour that I think would work for the Canucks and probably the Ning
Erik Cernak
23y/o
R shooting
6'4"/ 235lbs
Pending RFA status
Physical defensive defenseman who can spot in on the powerplay. Excellent in his own zone and doesn't take dumb penalites.
FOR
Jake Virtanen, Juolevi and a mid rnd pick/1b prospect

I never know how to compare forwards and defensemen. Especially after Hall/Larsson. I also know nothing about Cernak. But when you use his stats, and factor in that he was on a great team, I really have no idea how to value him. The Hockey Writers threw out a $3-$4 million/yr 4 year extension in an article from March as a fair value. Going from that, Jake/Juolevi/pick is too high of a price. Jake/Stecher sounds about right. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 10:58 am Here's a pipedream based on a sketchy rumour that I think would work for the Canucks and probably the Ning

I really don’t want to move Virtanen but I probably would for Cernak. Don’t see why Tampa would though. They are loaded up front. I assume they’d want a high pick or a blue chip prospect. We have neither to offer.
I value Juolevi and Stecher about the same. Both probably worth a solid prospect or a 2nd round pick.

We have too many right wingers and desperately need sound defensive dmen who can play a tough game.
Tampon is staring at re-upping Sergechev and Cernak but are having trouble punching out 3-4 for a 3rd pairing guy on their team. They also are somewhat thin on the right side wing...relatively speaking. After Kucherov theres Johnson then basically scrubbage
Theres a need on both sides. Enough to qualify for not only my pipedream but an internet hockeyrumours one as well.
Oh and Stetcher is not worth a 2nd round pick...
...neither is Juolevi for that matter
