Other Sports....non hockey

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Our alien (ad nauseum) just had to have more than countryman Nylander (for pride and narcicissm) and maxed out his negotiation at 11.6.

San Antonio's alien (Wembanyama) by his own choice left FIFTY ONE MILLION on the table so his club could afford talent around him to win a Championship.

They've sort of started doing this this world cup. The referee is now supposed to ask the player if they need medical assistance. If no, the game continues. If yes, they have to leave the pitch and cannot get back on till the next stoppage that is more than one minute after they left the pitch.

It has actually helped speed up the game. No one wants to leave the pitch as that means the team will be one man short till the next stoppage. I mean, that could be one minute, or it could be ten minutes... And after they say they don't need medical assistance the ref ignores them whether they get up or not.

Yet the players continue to writhe in feigned agony at the brush of a feather.

Silliness.

Taints the game immeasurably.

I agree the English players fell very easily tonight. Maybe some balance nerve problems?

In other news the Estate of Paul Allen, owner of the Seattle Seahawks, have agreed in principle to sell the team.

Price tag.

9.6 Billion.

This sale occurs on the 50th Anniversary of the team entering the NFL.

Expansion fee in 1976 time...16 million.

Inflation calculators equate that to 100 million in today's dollars.

Nice ROI.
