The Beagle contract in my mind was the worst contract decision of them all by Benning. I get he wanted to insulate the rookies with leadership snd vets but it’s quite clear now the Beagles were not needed
Loui was signed in an off season where multiple UFAs were signed to bad contracts. In my mind that off season changed how GMs approach to off season now. The Sedin factor also made the Eriksson contract happen. Benning was under pressure to try to win as long as the Twins were here
Sutter trade and his contract was understandable, he was a decent player at the time, prime of his career, just paid $1 million too much, the sooner we get rid of him the better, he’s just too soft

Woke up hungover at noon on Christmas Day.
Felt like crap all day, which ended with a watching of "It's a Wonderful Life" with wifey.
(had to make up for being a bad boy Xmas Eve by watching her fave movie)
After not drinking a drop yesterday and after a pot of coffee this A.M.
... I'm feeling almost human again.

The beagle, roussel, and schaller signings were Travis driven (similar to linden vey and bonino being Willy guys), that’s one thing I hope jim tones down is his willingness to get the coaches guys. I remember that free agency and it sounded like Canucks were out of the running for beagle because of his want for an extra year to play in Vancouver, then all of a sudden he was signed. I agree though beagle was a poor target all things considered. Hargraves had a decent day. Had some good grub, a few drinks and lamented the fact we can’t see family this year.... the one time when it would be great to have them around. FaceTiming is great and all but the real deal would be aces right about now.
