Despite the silly video, the guy has a valid point - but then most people who hate immigration also hate trading with poor countries and want everything made at home. Catch-22 there.

This means that a country like China, which used to be dirt poor, can now import western products - like Nebraska beef and help grow other economies.

I'm going to guess that griz is afraid that terrorists are going to kill him and if not, then a refugee from Syria will take his job. He's not afraid of the corporations and top 1% who will continue to profit from the work of the many and slowly erode the middle class. It's much easier to buy into a simple solution explained with gumballs than to do some critical thinking, some research and then apply some common sense.

It's ok if you're racist, that's a cultural upbringing that can slowly be reversed. Paranoia is a little deeper and takes some deprogramming. There is no known cure for trolling. And if you're in category (d), you need to get out more.

As for Mick's comments - I don't blame him for feeling out of place. The lower mainland has changed a TON since most of us grew up there. It's a change in demographics, but also culture. Every time I go 'home', it seems so many conversations start with, "I'm not racist, but..." - and it's tough to adapt so people either withdraw, assimilate or move.

Would you agree then that the media must have an overriding agenda and is in effect spewing propaganda?

If the media in general had integrity they would be more concerned with serving up the truth.

If the media in general had a slightly less degree of integrity they would be more concerned with ratings.

So how much integrity does the media have and what is the media concerned with?

If the public at large didn't smell a rat in regards to the media... no way the Donald wins the election imo.
