When did Sutter average 38 points a season ? Over what time frame ? Please provide reference
YOU were talking about points per game/career. (scroll up, you were very clear about that)
I merely responded.
Sutter has .38 points per game/career.
Backlund has .50 points per game/career.

Backlund
blew away Sutter in
ppg over his career
Lol you can’t see 50 points a season is better than
33.
It's
38, not 33.

Backlund has .50 points per game/career.
It was ppg per 82 games Numbnutz. Learn to read Mod/Troll
41-31 over the career for Backlund and 50-33 over a recent three year sample size. Big gap got bigger just like the airspace in your dome.

... YOU SAID
ppg over his career.
Learn to read YOUR OWN POSTS... "Numbnutz".
BTW "ppg per 82 games"... is the same thing as... "ppg over his career"
... unless you're talking about just one particular season??
But you didn't mention one particular season...
No idea what you're TRYING TO SAY... hey, I can only respond to what you DO say.
Sober up good buddy...

Is 50 points over 82 games better than 33 points over 82 games ?
Is 41 points a year better than 31 points a year ?
Which ones are better numbers ?

You clearly stated
ppg over their careers.
Now you are trying to move the goalposts (somewhere, anywhere) ??
Or you're just drunk.
Either way, NOT going to encourage that kind of behavior.
Here, towards the bottom they have
NHL ppg over their careers:

ppg over their careers YOUR WORDS.
Meaning you got one of numbers wrong.
Enter Strangelove with the correction.
How many fingers am I holding up?

0.38 ppg works out to 31 points per 82 game season.
0.50 ppg works out to 41 points per 82 game season.
It's exactly what Blobcat said.....

I'm not sure what the argument is here. Unless Strangelove is simply
trolling moderating because a guy forgot to put decimal points in front of a pair of numbers?
Either way.....
I will take Sutter in a bottom-6 role at $4.35M x 5 years over Backlund at $5.35M x 6 years in a similar role.
Sutter will win more faceoffs and play more minutes while contributing fewer points, but hopefully that extra million in cap space can be put towards someone who plays in the top-6 and more than makes up for those 10 points from a checking center.....hopefully.
Both players are overpaid by at least $500K considering what they bring to their respective teams on the ice.

THANK YOU
Not sure why he didn't just stick to his
ppg over their careers though.
Less confusing no?
And he did it without explanation.
And then he switched to
ppg per 82 games... when he should have said "
points per 82 games".
(he was attempting to clarify but failed miserably)
(I just now figured out that "
points per 82 games"... is what he must have meant)
But none of this explains the original mix up.
Here's where it started...
I laughed at him for saying "Backlund
blew away Sutter in
ppg over his career".
He responded with "Lol you can’t see
50 points a season is better than
33".
That made ZERO sense... considering he was talking about
ppg over their careers
(did
anyone understand what he meant by the numbers
50 and
33 at that point in time??)
So I assumed he was referring to Backlund/Sutter's career ppg numbers of .50 and .38
... and that he got the last number wrong (hence my correction).
NEAR THE END Blob threw in something about "over a recent three year sample size".
But that was too little too late... the damage to the conversation was already done.
He should have said "over a recent three year sample size"
from the start... if that's what he meant.
He didn't... but he did say
ppg over their careers repeatedly during the convo.
A
sober Blob is capable of communicating better than this...

Gonna have to disagree with you there, Blob. Pretty sure the "Doctor" reference in Strange's handle is with respect to the study of red herrings (rather than a movie reference).
Notwithstanding the semantics or whether or not Blob indulged in some libations, .50 is substantially better than .38, particularly when considering the spread is over a career. I will readily admit that I don't watch enough flames hockey to be able to comment on whether the other facets of their respective games makes Sutter or Backlund the better buy.

And Backlund (same age as Sutter) will earn $1 million more a year than Sutter, on a 6 year contract extension 3 years longer than what's left on Sutters contract.
Let's either stop ragging on about Sutters contract or let's call the Backlund 6 year extension awful. Make up your minds
