EU has announced reciprocal tariffs as well. Canadas tariffs seems selective and not across everything if I understand correctly.
I'm now hearing that the EU is eager to negotiate.

I don't think it matters, though Reef. I expect Trump to leave his tariffs in place.
The EU has announced retalitory tariffs will begin next week...
I read the other day that Ursula Von Der Leyen (I think) was offering a free trade agreement. Things move quickly.

As I mentioned to Reef, I expect Trump to stick with his crazy plan anyway.
Economists say that the elimination of the inter provincial trade barriers within Canada could produce as much as 2% GDP...

Ursula von der Leyen in a recent speech promoting removing barrriers amongst EU countries said that these inter country trade barriers have the same impact as a 45% tariff....

The great awakening as a result of the Trump tariffs has begun...

Well, hallelujah to that Rik. We've needed to take that measure for a long time.

Is anyone else creeped our by Mike Myers and Carney commercials. Myers just did his Pentaverate mini series which was about global elites and conspiracy theorists. Carney got to him. He even named them all in So I Married An Axe Murder. The Queen, The Vatican, The Carneys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went tits up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with is wee *beady* eyes, and that smug look on his face. "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!"

Myers must have one of Musk's fucking brain chips installed.

Myers looks strange for sure. I iust wonder how so many here want to crush the Canadian politicians, but the same toads think a better answer is the Donald. The Wiebos flip their shit if anyone dares criticize Trump but they pile on Canadian politicians and anyone who disagrees with the getalong gang is a troll or an asshole. 'Do as I say, not as I do'

That post Corn linked the other day about how Carney had gathered the largest holders of US Treasury bonds to collude to start a slow sell off ...man that was brilliant.

It's difficult to say whether Carney and his posse were responsible for Trump's about-face as there were also a lot hedge funds making highly leveraged bets on the small pricing gaps between bonds and bond futures. I don't know the fine details, but essential the trades had become unprofitable and traders had to unload bonds to unwind their positions. This is the prevailing theory among traders, but impossible to verify as there is virtually no transparency on hedge fund activities.

Still, great idea from Carney. This is a great example of why rikster likes him and I agree. Do you think the newspaper boy would have done this?

Do you know anything about the source? He seems to have blocked some of the Canadian accounts I follow on X. I just stumbled across a thread about this this morning.

The source offers no sources.

File that article in the fiction section...

Collude: : to work together secretly especially in order to do something illegal or dishonest : conspire, plot.

Yup. Great idea that comes naturally to Liberals.

So were one to kick him in, as 5th seems to long for, the proverbial "nuts" when he goes to the ground would you encapsulate that as DJ Trumpled to the turf when ball blasted?
