Head Coach Adam Foote was asked about the noise surrounding his captain and if that’s impacting the room and the mood of his players:
“They obviously hear it, Foote shared. “I think when I’ve been around things like that, you’re not talking about it, you’re trying not to think about it, but it’s there. You can feel it certain days more than others. I can feel it certain days more than others. These guys are human; they can feel it. It can affect, for sure, a locker room. etc etc etc
Looks like another media circus that management refuses to get ahead of. Just a quick statement shutting it down would be nice, but instead, these assclowns will let the local moronic media dictate how the team operates.

Only Mr Aquilini could oversee the series of management blunders we have all witnessed and still allow the same people who created this great big mess to trade the greatest player in franchise history at age 26 as a direct consequence of having made the mess in the first place.
This one sentence encapsulates all that is wrong with this franchise under this ownership.
They may never know of the great Megaterios Llamas, but his words will live on and be quoted by the masses for decades to come.
RIP Canucks

I can't believe we've put ourselves in a position where we're talking about trading Quinn Hughes. If this actually happens, I think we've probably failed as a franchise. It might be time to pack it in. I have been a loyal follower since the WHL days, but this might be too much failure for even me to digest.
My gawd, this blundering.

They should be fired tomorrow, and the fans should be at the airport to boo them as they leave town.
We've had enough.

It's different for sure Rats. I don't ever remember a manager disassembling a competitive team this quickly before. And Quinn Hughes isn't like Pavel Bure wanting a change of scenery, I think he actually likes it here, but the management has cratered the team.

Yah it’s been a steep drop from almost a contender to … not so much…. The drama…. The stupid moves…!
I personally don’t have the time for a full rebuild…
I would get some joy watching youth development though…
Sorta like now… lol

Throw in Jett Woo and you've got a deal

This isn't all on the Canucks. Quinn and his camp could come out tomorrow and say he has no intention of leaving and every intention of signing a new deal July 1st. He could put an end to the rumours and circus.
Of course the Canucks could come out and say they have no intention of trading Quinn as well.

Exactly - a joint statement saying that they have no intention of talking about a deal until the summer or something would (mostly) kill the rumours.

And the lack of all this speaks louder than words.
I think we can all pretty much read the tea leaves here.

In a normal world, with competent management, I would agree. But these guys seem to be the worst communicators we've had. They are not media-savvy - and maybe too 'old school' to see what's going on around them. We've watched them let every other story snowball beyond their control, so why not this one?

I don’t know Cornuck, a blatant press release isn’t required for me, it’s pretty damn clear what’s going on here. They’ve probably been advised not to bring it out into the open to create an even more out of control circus, I mean think about the sideshow mayhem if both parties came out and said it. It would be bad enough to the point of forcing Hughes to sit until a trade happens. I completely get how they are handling it.
