Yeah the leaves aren't that bad. I can see them picking in the top 10 but they aren't a bottom feeder. There are so many poor teams in the East that the leaves may be a bubble team if everything goes well , but they are not a lock for post season. It's such a cakewalk in the East after the top 3 or 4 teams . I can't see anyone except Boston and Pittsburgh being able to make the playoffs if they played in the Western Conference. Such a balance of power..... similar to the CFL really.BigTuna wrote:No chance of Mcdavid pick with this Leaf's Team. Bernier would have to completely flop in order for that to happen. And he looks damn good.

Well Clarkson got his face broke in a fight with McCormick and Leaf fans are upset.rats19 wrote:Booth is hurt

They're upset because he's NOT going on the LTIR!
Oh it's true!
He's going to start the season wearing a full cage but says it "won't change the [dumbass] way I play"!
So yeah, there's hope yet Leafers.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Lmao I was reading hfboards the other day and a Leaves fan proposed a Kessel trade to CBJ for Ryan Johansen and a 2015 1st rounder and 2nd rounder . Fuck Leaf fans are delusional . I wouldn't make that trade one for one let alone throw in two high picks . Dumbest fans in the league right there with the losers from Calgary .

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Now you're ridiculously overrating Johansen. 1 60 point season. Kadri had a better scoring pace at a similar age. Is Kessel a top 100 forward in your eyes, LOL. You're knocking Leaf fans yet you're already saying Johanson is far better than Kessel.Blob Mckenzie wrote:Lmao I was reading hfboards the other day and a Leaves fan proposed a Kessel trade to CBJ for Ryan Johansen and a 2015 1st rounder and 2nd rounder . Kessel produces every year with Bozak. He's an elite NHL talent who's never injured. He's been a PPG player for 3 straight seasons. You know how small that list is of NHL players who've done that?
Gotta love how players in markets no one cares about get zero criticism and so much acclaim and Kessel is a piece of worthless crap in Toronto.
Johansen is on par with Kadri in terms of value/talent. Kadri at age 22 played at a 70 point pace and last season in a "Bad Year", with not great ice-time still cracked 50 points.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
I never said who was a better player . Johansen is five years younger , better defensively, way bigger and plays a more important position . I would rather have Johansen to build around , not to mention he will be a much cheaper cap hit for the next two years and perhaps longer depending on how thee negotiations go .

Lmao Kadri isn't a quarter of the player RJ is . He is a skinny greasy weak player who doesn't know where his own end of the ice is .

Kadri is underrated. Very solid young player with nice upside.Blob Mckenzie wrote:Lmao Kadri isn't a quarter of the player RJ is . He is a skinny greasy weak player who doesn't know where his own end of the ice is .

Fixed it for ya.BigTuna wrote: He's been a PPG player for the first 60 games of 3 straight seasons.
Phil is perfect for a team like the leaves - red-hot through the first part of the season, then utterly disappears in crunch time to ensure that he gets his full 4 month off-season to re-build his boiler.
No way would Toronto ever get a 1RP back in a trade for Phil, because whoever gets Phil will be gunning for a lottery pick.
Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
No he doesn't. He cooled off once during last season like the entire team.ESQ wrote:Fixed it for ya.BigTuna wrote: He's been a PPG player for the first 60 games of 3 straight seasons.

In the ultimate "Crunch Time"-Playoffs, Phil has 13 goals, 21 points in 22 games.
No First rounder for Phil. Of course. He's not worth that! He only had 80 points last season.
Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
I've said it once and I'll say it again - satisfies me to no end that Leave fans defend and think the likes of Kessel, Kadri, Phaneuf, Bozak, etc. are good players and are happy with building a team around them.
Keep it up!!
Keep it up!!

L-O-fucking-L at Kadri being anywhere near the player RJ is already, let alone the potential he has.

Phillys is a naturually talented scoring winger. One of the best scoring wingers in the league.
Does he back check? No.
Does he hit? No.
Does he forecheck? Well, he skates around the offensive zone without the puck.....
Does he block shots? Accidentally.
Does he appear to have a ton of heart? Not overly.
Is he dedicated to his physical fitness?
Is he worth a 1st round pick? To a top-5 team that needs scoring help.
Is he worth a top 15 pick? Only if Garth Snow is your GM.
