Yeah seems fair, instead of meeting at a half way point between the two Alberta teams and Vancouver let's put it at the halfway point between Calgary and Edmonton.

I love going to cowpuke after a blow out like tonight. That other Finn with two on the PP.
Refs fault
Elliot sucks
Refs sucked
Taychook not ready for the NHL, plays like a goon and is gonna get clocked one day
Gully a shit coach
Refs sucked
Defence too slow
Johnny shouldn't have held out.
Refs sucked
But other than that
We totally out played the Oilers and were the better team oh and the refs sucked.
Gonna get my laughs in now before our season starts.

LMAO!!!!
I will give them that the refs sucked. It was pretty horrid. At times it felt like they were doing everything they could to help the Oilers inaugurate their new rink with a win.
That penalty shot they gave to McDavid was soft, and it was pure horseshit that they didn't give the Oilers a penalty on the play immediately before where Gaudreau walked through and got hooked even worse than McDavid did on his partial breakaway.
It's very obvious that they are adjusting to a new coach still.....especially Gaudreau. There were at least 3 occasions where he gained the zone on the PP and tried a reverse pass up to the point and the defenseman was in the middle of the blueline instead of along the boards for the pass.
The are right about Elliott being terrible. That was an abysmal first game with a new team, maybe the worst I've seen from any goaltender. Talbot wasn't much better at the other end, the Flames just don't have the scoring punch that Edmonton boasts.
Gaudreau holding out has hurt team chemistry. He's a top line player and they have gone through training camp and the pre-season without him even around the locker room. He's not an $8M player, and both he and his agent should be drawn and quartered for thinking so. How many times did Calgary try a long stretch pass to Gaudreau on the Oiler's side of center? He probably had to be introduced to Brian Elliott between periods just so he knew who his goalie was.
Calgary's blueline is actually worse than it was last year. The strength of it was augmented by the fact that Hartley demands that his forwards all come back and play hard defense. Gully has a different philosophy and it will expose some of the holes in Calgary's blueline.
No idea why the didn't pull Elliott after the first period. Still clueless regarding the same question after 40 minutes. And again no idea what they were thinking after the 6th goal with 11 minutes to play in the third.
I really can't see our season opener going worse than the Lames. (Knocks on wood)

Man they suck at that site.
I would to see them finish 9th in conference, while Nuck's finish 8th and win the first round.

Considering how much the mongoloid farm complains about the officiating I'm surprised that Wideman is being brought down like a Cessna in tonight's GDT.

Did anyone catch Kelly Hrudey in the HNIC second period intermission of Canucks/Flames Saturday?
They showed a clip of a penalty called on Wideman a few nights previously (I'm guessing at Hrudey's request).
The other three on the panel all agreed that there is no rumoured conspiracy against Wideman by the officials.
Then Hrudey:
"All bias aside, for 6 or 7 games after Wideman got suspended, the refs were punishing the Flames."
I blame cow fumes...

They just did a lifetime ban on a poster there since 2004 because he fun of the site. Good natural fun, way to go Bingo you never seem to disappoint.
A few more loses and that site will implode.
I think they win a couple now, the team is better than their current record.

LOL, rating their defence, just behind SJ and Nashville but in the mix with Chicago and LA, but ahead of St Lou and Tampa.

I disagree, they're actually lucky to even have a point.
The may very well only get 2 points in their next 5 games, my guess would be the Canes game.
I've gone on record as saying I think they falter this season. They overachieved last year IMO, if people think we have secondary scoring issues just check out the Flames depth. And Elliot has looked terrible thus far! Not to mention their defense isn't going to help him much.
Sure Goodro can stick handle really fast and really loudly, but teams are learning how to keep him off the scoresheet. That even happened last year on the road when teams had the last change. Keep him to the perimeter, take away passing lanes, and watch him stick handle like he's going through 100 pucks.

I would say 1 pt in an OT loss to the Canes. Gulutzan will be fired by the end of November...
