Well...I would argue if Hughes had even a modicum of intellect he would have sussed that out pre-Boeser extension....

Brock signed less than 18 months ago right....

For sure. I guess I am just saying, whatever they knew 18 months ago their actions over the last year don’t exactly scream “acceptance”

Understood.

Honestly I don't really know what their actions scream dbrr.

Other than disarray and inefficiency.

Brock without a winger carrying, top end centre/space clearer is a useless entity.
Brock sort of makes sense as Plan B when there is no Plan C and you are absolutely desperate to convince Quinn Hughes that you’re not a bunch of incompetent losers..
I highly doubt they have any sort of "plan" other than make reactionary moves with zero foresight to see the oh so obvious truth

Not appreciating the fact no trades have been made yet beyond Hughes. The closer they get to the deadline, the more teams will decide they are sellers. Canucks were the only sellers a couple weeks ago. Now it looks like the Rags and Flames are adding more to the market. They best pick up their urgency - at least for the UFAs.

Between the naps, mugs of ovaltine in the window, long slow discussions about the weather...there just isn't enough time in a day when you're crawling into bed for the night at 6:30

Maybe what we would have been happy with as compared to what they demanded was counter-intuitive.

^^lol Cuz^^

Wasn’t sure where to put this but the Canucks now feel like a team waiting for the hammer to fall. I understand management needs to try to maximize returns but this could get even uglier on ice if moves aren’t made soon.

Kane is a waste of space, really though he would be better here and play for his next contract but nope.

Canucks Management are a group operating in complete disarray and from a position of extreme weakness.

This will be a fact obvious to all.

The sharks will as likely as not circle and wait for their collective heads to go under....

All the more reason to fire them now and bring in a new management group that is not flailing.

...as stated this morning 2 threads below.
donlever wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 9:03 am Yeah....they have to go.

They can not be allowed to be the harbingers of our fate.

But FA is Jerry Jones and seems unlikely to step aside and allow a Mike Greer, Pat Verbeek or Kent Hughes (et cetera) to take the reigns without meddling.

How much is he paying for people no longer employed here?

I mentioned a couple of what I feel to be credible GM options last week at this here GDHTMB.

That is the first domino that needs to fall.

Get someone with experience, intelligence and vision in here to take this thing down to the studs.

I agree with Topper.

Very unlikely.

.....and yes dipshits, from the top down.

Yeah...could happen.

Although they could also panic early and shuffle shit off for pennies on the dollar as well.

Who knows with these guys?

They should be out the door now if we had ownership with any nuts.

Is it a money play...is AIG paying (or have they historically and are done with it?) for to many people who are not here already?

The best thing that could happen is AIG could back off....the two henchman in charge s/b shown the door...and a forward thinking group with a vision and a plan hired. He can then clean house as necessary.

Otherwise.

We are wheel spinning.
