I know he’s a good player but he would be the fifth best player on the team. That’s not a bad thing. 8.25 is the problem.
I'd slot him in ahead of BB but below Horvat and as Ratski says, 2nd best dman-will be the 2nd highest paid dman in a year....right around his true value

The Yotes retain $1.25 million and we pay him what Hayes and Nylander. That’s excellent! OEL is far more valuable than those two goobers
If you can get the Yotes to retain 1.25 to 1.5 million, I’m on board and said as much a few times. At 8.25 it’s a non starter for me.

If they sign eight year deals they could easily get 10. Have a gander at Eichel’s deal for reference. I see no reason to fuck around the two franchise players.
No sky is falling at all. 8.25 for your number 2 D man till he’s 36 is too much.

Someone will have to play on the off-side for a year (Hughes and OEL are both capable).

Yeah he’ll be 35 and 348 days old when his contract expires. Just a youngster.

Doc, the one thing about Benning is he makes bold moves instead actually just talking about wanting to make bold moves like Gillis. Benning isn’t scared like Gillis was to make bold moves. Benning just getserdun which is why I believe OEL will happen. Benning is ruthless
