tbh, I think old man Schenn is being handled the way he should be.
He's really not an everyday player at this point and wouldn't make the roster of most teams, imo.
Save this guy or he's going to be even worse on the ice. His value is probably more in the room these days.

Roster decisions make enough sense to me.
It’s a toss up between Bains and Gallagher, and Gallagher is done.
They are going to play one of them.
Not much in Abbotsford forcing them out of a job, maybe 5’7 Trey Fix-Wolansky?
But they’ll probably wait for an injury or a trade before recalling him and giving him a look.
I’ve noticed Mancini has been better the last couple of games on the PK.
They’ve been competitive the last couple of games.
Might as well give him a run over Schenn as there is still some potential there,
at least until they are blown out again, maybe after tonight.
It’s a rebuild year. The roster is what it is.

Is this some kind of program of balancing the defensive pairings, or has Buium been demoted to 3rd pairing?
UWSaint has written a bit about what seems to be going wrong for Zeev; has anybody seen anything else?
Does this look like a serious long-term development limitation, or is it just that the NHL is a really tough place for the overwhelming majority of 20 year-old defencemen, even ones who (some day) be really good?
OTOH, finding a first-pairing NHL defenceman (even on a truly bad team) in the third round feels like a drafting coup.
*******************************************************************************************
Tangential digression:
Listrom was drafted 53rd OA, Keith 54th, Chara 56th, Blake at 70th, Zubov 85th, Forsling at 126th, Bieksa at 151st. Brian Lee, Griffin Reinhart, Jacob Zboril, and Oli Juolevi were all drafted top 13. Yes, that is some serious cherry-picking, and yes, I'm too lazy to do a statistical analysis, but it seems like -- relative to forwards, anyway -- there are more gems left late in the draft, and more busts taken early. And even without stats, that observation would align with the usual amateur scout opinion young defencemen are harder to project. Long ago, I concluded that meant that once out of the high probability of success zone (going by dbr's analysis, around 30th overall), teams should disproportionately allocate their draft darts to defencemen, since who the "BPA" is at that point is largely a matter of guess work, anyway.

All due respect to UW but Zeev is 20 years old...has 90 games under his belt and the pressure of being traded for Hughes combined with a big ticket contract to live up to.
Many, many individuals involved in the league at a much higher level than any of us forecast a great career for the kid.
He has been a spectacular player at every level so far....
Let's let him grow, mature and develop before our typicalCanuckfangrindinghimintoashellofwhathecouldbe efforts....

A minor faux pas by Oleksiak and the Leevi breaks early.
Running the wheels off Leevi could pay dividends later.
