Mercer is an RFA after 27-28 season - $4.0 million

Defenceman
Dillion a UFA after 27-28 season - $4 million
Casey an RFA after 27-28 season - $1.0 million
Nemec is an RFA after 26-27 season - $1.0 million

Hischier is the same age as Petey - 26 and has put up consistently excellent numbers over the last few seasons. There are your top two centres in Petey and Hischier. Silayev is expected to play in the NHL in 2026-27 with one year left on KHL contract. He’s an exciting D-prospect and is a giant. And of course the 2026 pick from a helluva draft class

They can only outbid by that much if they sign him before July 1 of next year.

It's after July 1st but before the ratification of the next collective, whenever they takes effect

Correction, they could sign him next summer, right up until September 16, 2026.....that's when the new CBA takes effect.
