The Canadian Club is looking pretty rough out there, hope they settle down. I question the player selection , but hey, what do I know.

Yeah a 26 year old all situations defenseman that logs 25 minutes a night locked up for 8 years should be very haunting. Really wasn't Hronek acquired with part of the trade proceeds Allvin got for a slow 28 year old winger disguised as a centre that consistently ran out of gas and bonked out 30 seconds into his shifts?
Have you seen this Pellika fly? He’s a good player, Blob, very good!
He was blastin' guys out there with big hits too Chef. Looks like he could be an all arounder.

I was darned impressed.

Our guy wasn't really noticeable to me.

Nothing wrong with being unnoticeable. Unlike a certain razor thin Finn that was chosen high in 2016, he has a compete level. Worst case scenario s he's a sold second paring D man.

Pellika is a stud, Blob, he’s ranked pretty high on most prospect lists out there. I didn’t say anything about Willander

Per wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 1:12 pm Sandin-Pellika had a hell of a game, hat trick plus an assist, as Sweden beat Slovakia 5-2 in the opener.

Germany is putting up a better fight than expected against the USA.
And as I type this James Hagen scores his second goal of the game. The US leads 4-2.
Williander looked very solid. Nothing flashy just smart solid mature play. A couple of missed breakout passes but that could be not quite knowing his teammates.

Was interesting how much the Swede D not just pinches but end up playing the wing in the O zone. Smooth overlapping.

Not that I would ever want to praise a Skellefteå player, but Sandin-Pellika is leading the SHL in d-man points. At 19 years of age. :o
22 points (8+14) in 25 games.

Dude I responding to you saying The Canadian team looked rough and questioned the player selections. And something by about a kid having to do all the work. You constantly throw shade at the National teams.

I thought they played a bit sloppy, some of the forwards were leaving the zone too early looking for the Bure breakaway. Coach needs to get them to sharpen up and lose the bad habits. They settled down as the game wore on but didn’t like what o saw regarding the little things, it was like pick up river hockey. To me that’s on the coach.

Btw, even if Willander wasn’t noticeable, he logged 24:43 minutes while no other Swede reached 21.
Tells you the coaches want him on the ice.
