Was it a perfect rebuild? Nope.

But it was fast, relative to where they started - bad, old, slow, and almost no prospects in the pipeline after a solid decade of poor drafting.

For whatever credit Gillis gets, they've now done what Gillis's teams failed to do from 2012-2014: win a playoff series.

So maybe a few of us weren't wrong about the over-payments.....and maybe a few of us were right about the need for it.
