Speaking of for all eternity lets let a Canadian Legend takes us home on a Saturday Night....Strangelove wrote:Guess again.BigTuna wrote:I think you believe he' too small.Strangelove wrote: Yes because we were talking about height...

Yeahno, that was two years ago bud... and he did not improve at all last season.
But when all is said+done no one is going to care about what he did on a stacked junior team.
Two NHL rookie tournaments in two years... he has sucked severely at both now.
The moves he makes in the OHL don't work for him in the NHL.
(mostly because he can't make those moves at top speed)
(also because the NHL has great backchecking forwards and great-skating play-the-body dee)
Matthews and Nylander(until he gets concussed-for-life) will make the grade, but Marner will not.
And the Leaves will suck for all eternity, but you knew that...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Marc Savard was one of the best players in the entire NHL and the best passing centre. He wasn't a "Hurt Bag"< he suffered one of the cheapest shots in nHL history which ended his career prematurely. Eric Lindros was a physical monster but he had non-stop concussions.Rocky Dennis wrote:BigTuna wrote:I think you believe he' too small.Strangelove wrote:Yes because we were talking about height...
Good luck with that "Bust" fantasy. He's a top 3 NHL prospect. Did you see the year he had last year? Elite talent.
Best 17 year old PPG in OHL since 1985
1. Connor McDavid - 2.61
2. Eric Lindros - 2.61
3. Sam Gagner - 2.23
4. Marc Savard - 2.11
5. Jason Spezza - 2.10
6. Joe Thornton - 2.07
7. John Tavares - 2.00
7. Mitchell Marner - 2.00
9. Jeff O'Neill - 1.91
10. Owen Nolan - 1.91
1. 6'1 190 & Generational Talent.
2. 6'4 240
3. 5'11 202
4. 5'10 191
5. 6'3 220
6. 6'4 220
7. 6'1 211
7b. 5'11 160
9. 6'1 230
10. 6'1 214
So that list contains mostly behemoths and a couple brick sh*thouses. The two comparables size-wise are:
#3 Gagner, who had modest success and was/is a constant hurt-bag.
#4 Marc Savard, who was a great talent and a complete hurt-bag.
If I was forced to bet, I'd go with the odds (& Doc) and say the deck's stacked against him to become the elite NHL talent you keep claiming he will be. Exhibit B, is you claiming that he will be an elite NHL talent. That's the kiss of death if ever there was one because I can not recall one instance of your BS leaves propaganda coming to fruition, particularly when it comes to prospects and new TML acquisitions. If by chance Marner does buck said odds and becomes a bonafide NHL star, chances are still good he becomes more fodder for the nhl concussion class-action.
So keep on jiving, turkey.

If you want to use small sample sizes, then surely you agree, newly signed Zaitsev is a true #1 D-Man based on how terrific he looked at the world cup.Strangelove wrote:Guess again.BigTuna wrote:I think you believe he' too small.Strangelove wrote: Yes because we were talking about height...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
I have been reading this Leaf thread for years and for the first time am wondering why there is a Leaf thread on a Canuck board? Is there a Canuck thread on the Leaf board? Don't know but willing to bet no. Just a thought. Maybe this form of split personality is why Canuck fans are so hated across the NHL.

This thread is here to keep it all in one place - and keep leaf talk out of the real hockey threads.

Exactly, anyone who has been... reading this thread for years... should have clued in years ago.Cornuck wrote:This thread is here to keep it all in one place - and keep leaf talk out of the real hockey threads.
As an aside, there seems to be a lot of Leaf-hatred in this thread, bet that drives closet Leaf-lovers mad.
Saaaay... wouldn't Leaf-lovers on a fucking Canucks board constitute a form of split personality?
Just a thought...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
it really is amazing that some so called Canuck fans who pose as Leaf Haters not mentioning any names Doc Strangelove are so well versed on all things Leaf like Salary cap situations Prospects it does make you wonder aloud as some of us poke fun with a stick to get a rise.... More posts in this thread than most on this page for the home club like I have said in the Past More People care about the blue n white than cheer for the the hometown club...damonberryman wrote:I have been reading this Leaf thread for years and for the first time am wondering why there is a Leaf thread on a Canuck board? Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
I actually laugh out loud every time a goal is scored against the Leaves.
I hate the Flames but they become my favorite team when they play the Leaves.
And I literally give the finger to certain Leaf players I see on the telly.
The more I know about the Leaves, the more pain I can inflict on Leaf fans I run into.
Sure I'm a bit of an asshole, but this is completely normal behavior, more people should try it...
