What's going on with OEL? Haven't read/ heard anything since the morning.
And HW is staying mum on it.
Either she doesn’t know or she knows to stay quiet about details until after the fact.....in which case it’s very very close.
My source isn't responding to my texts so I know nothing. He goes dark like this when he doesn't trust himself to not say too much which tells me that where there is smoke there is fire. Which doesn't tell us anything at all that we don't already know.
The least he could do is let you know, so you can tell us, if he thinks the trade is likely to happen or not!

At another blog I frequent there is some one who is currently working in the NHL in a research and development capacity. He and a poster who follows the Avalanche are saying that two parts of Tyson Barrie's game that are his weakest are skating and breakout passes. The Avs fan said that Barrie gets most of his points jumping in on the rush as a fourth guy. So Barrie doesn't come with what the Canucks need the most in a defensemen, the ability to made good outlet passes.

Even with all that, not sure how they fit the Lads into a flat cap with OEL’s contract... Tight.
If you’d like the management team to be smart... they don’t.
10+ 10 + 8.25 + 6 + 6 + 5.75 + 5.25 + all the other poison contracts leaves fuck all for depth. Math isn’t strong point here.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, imaginary number math with Mr. Hargraves!
Hughes 10
Petterson 10
OEL 8.25
Boeser 5.75
Horvat 5.65
Miller 5.25
Myers 6
= 50.9 million for 7 players. Add 6 million for the crook if he’s still here the next 2 years and you’re at 56.9 million and need 15 players. Better to just let the bad contracts run out and drain the swamp.

The math Doyle shows is ludicrous.

The math adds up. Or is OEL going to be the new internal cap for everyone despite the fact he’d be the teams 5th best player at best.

OEL will thrive here like all swedes do. He’s a machine! The Yotes will retain some. I think we will be on the hook for $7 million like the Flyers are with Kevin Hayes and the Leaves are with Nylander
Now you have to ask yourself. Who’d you rather have at 7 per? Hayes, Nylander or OEL?

OEL is a good player Doyle. Why the hate?

I know he’s a good player but he would be the fifth best player on the team. That’s not a bad thing. 8.25 is the problem.

The Yotes retain $1.25 million and we pay him what Hayes and Nylander. That’s excellent! OEL is far more valuable than those two goobers
