Yah, Chara is a great defenseman.
I’ll always remember his last game he played as a Bruin against the Canucks he helped keep the Canucks under double digits.

Agree completely.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 1:28 pm Zdeno Chara to Washington for 795K. How does Don Sweeney let that happen? He should have re-signed him. I’d be pissed if I was a Bruins fan.
You don't tell a legend to piss off.
Sign him to that $795K contract and play him on the bottom pairing.

He can still play. He can kill penalties and give a team 17-18 minutes a night. It’s really bizarre. In light of losing Torrey Krug and now Chara, that D has taken a hit.Strangelove wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 5:55 pmAgree completely.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 1:28 pm Zdeno Chara to Washington for 795K. I hope that means they’re close to signing Barzal. He’ll be the direct comparable for Petey. Faster the Canucks get Petey and Hughes done, the better for all the future planning and signings.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:08 pm Isles just signed Martin, Greene and Cory Schneider.

Pierre Luc Dubois wants out of columbus and has asked for a trade. He just signed a short term affordable deal to make himself more marketable.

They're "not close" according to Dreger:Cherry Picker wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 4:35 pmI hope that means they’re close to signing Barzal. He’ll be the direct comparable for Petey. Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Trevor Lewis signed a PTO today which leaves only Boyle and Grabner from the list of forwards and just Jimmy Howard from the goalies.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 1:21 pm I guess some of these guys are about to start signing for less than they had hoped for.
Just looking at the four pages of ufa on capfriendly and the pickings are pretty slim.
These are the names that could be of some interest, however mild:
forwards:
Mike Hoffman
Mikael Granlund
Erik Haula
Andreas Athansiou
Carl Soderberg
Matt Martin
Cory Perry
Bryan Boyle
Riley Sheahan
Derek Brassard
Michael Grabner
Drake Caggiulla
Trevor Lewis
Connor Sheary
Frederick Gauthier
Michael Frolik
Devin Shore
defense:
Sami Vatanen
Travis Hamonic
Andy Greene
Jan Rutta
Slater Koekkoek
Ben Hutton
Mirco Mueller
Ron Hainsey
Michael Stone
Michael Del Zotto
Yannick Webber
goal:
Craig Anderson
Ryan Miller
Cory Schneider
Jimmy Howard
Quite a few mediocre D still unsigned though.
