Lol only a closet Leaf fan would turn to a 4-month-old Pratt-rant at a time like this!

Pratt is most definitely the least respected hockey pundit in all Canuckdom...

BTW did you ever actually admit to being a closet Leafer.... Todd? :mex:
Making Golum try harder?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

The worst thing is Pratt's time slot, the morning, when most are in their vehicles, not very happy in the first place and they/we have to listen to his self proclaimed expertise. NOT! Get him outta there FFS. At least make the morning show more respectable, please.
Then again, he use to be on for the drive home in the afternoon rush with Taylor and they would argue about who was prettier, Jan or Marsha.
1040 was better when it was 50% call ins, I think.

Wrong.

And even if he went UFA why in... H E L L... would he sign with one of the worst teams in the league?

Oh right: "Good ole Ontario boy comin' home!"

Gee, where have we heard that before....
Money is the most important thing. It's not like he can join LA or Chicago to go for a cup. The contenders don't have the $.

He'll get 10 million per minimum. That means he isn't joining a current contender.
Oh well.

Tavares coming home in 2018??

Stamkos will sign with Tampa.

You only get Pittsburgh's first if they make the playoffs.

And who the fuck is Jimmy Vesey? (don't answer that)

Leafers! ... always living in some futuristic fantasy world.
"Stamkos"... No.

"Jimmy Vesey"... who?

"mid-first rounder"... 30th overall

Yeah, I dunno why ppl are so anti-Pratt though. I think he's actually quite pro-Canucks. Sure, he may look @ things differently than u or I. He doesn't seem to be much of a Willlie D fan, like a lot of folks here. He thinks Big Looch will go to Edmn and Erikkson will come here. I sure hope he's wrong.

I will give him kudos on this though, while pretty much everyone around here and the media was thinking either Tkachuk or Dubois, he was looking at Juelevi. He was thinking along the same wave lengths as the "genius".

OMG Todd loves Pratt and the Leaves!!

So twisted...

https://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie/stat ... 3050229760
As I speculated on @OverDrive1050 tonight, Jared Cowen has not been bought out by TOR in the 1st buyout window, which is now closed.

https://twitter.com/mirtle/status/748675497349914625
Word is that the leaves buyout of Jared Cowen is being disputed due to a continuing injury. That's why there's some confusion.

https://twitter.com/mirtle/status/748675782436761600
It will be interesting where this goes from here. $3-million at stake for the player. leaves want Cowen off the books.

https://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie/stat ... 6841011200
It's believed NHLPA is now involved. This may well be subject of grievance arbitration but details scarce as both sides refuse to comment.

https://twitter.com/FriedgeHNIC/status/ ... 3169721344
1) On Jared Cowen, hearing NHL & NHLPA began an arbitration case yesterday to determine whether or not TOR can buy him out...

https://twitter.com/FriedgeHNIC/status/ ... 8556306432
2) There is still more to be done, so a decision is not expected in immediate future. No one (NHL, NHLPA, team or agent) is talking...

https://twitter.com/FriedgeHNIC/status/ ... 1731252224
3) but, word is Cowen had surgery after he left TOR on a doctor's recommendation. Prior to that, he had been cleared to play in AHL...

https://twitter.com/FriedgeHNIC/status/ ... 0767011840
4) So the dispute surrounds whether or not he was healthy. Apparently, that's for the arbitrator to decide. (Fini)

It's about time a player stood up those dirty Leaves... hopefully Robidas + Lupul follow suit. Image

So that's why the Leaves couldn't break the bank for Mr Stamkos!

(that's close to a $4M cap-hit swing right there - no cap credit now)

Nice going Lou...

Hopefully he won't be healthy until after the season starts and the buy out window closes. Of course they can waive him but will have 900,000+ on the cap, plus the contract!!

Doc don't you love it when a plan comes together like this.

I was just looking over the Leaves' roster at General Fanager...

They haven't updated on Cowan or the recent Polak ($2.5M?) re-signing.

Assuming a $3.1M cap-hit on Cowan + $2,5M on Polak...

Assuming $800K or so on each of RFA dmen Carrick, Marincin, and Corrado...

Assuming $1.5M on RFA Holland...

Assuming entry-level cap-hits on Matthews, Marner, Nylander (OR any necessary 3-more forwards)...

I think they're within a coupla mill of the off-season cap-max $80.3M

($73M cap-max + 10% summer overage = $80.3M).

So, though some juggling is possible, it would've been pretty tough to open the vault for Stamkos (pre-Polak)

.... but the straw that broke the back might have been the sudden Cowan situation

(goodbye $700K credit, hello $3.1M Cowan cap-hit).

Even if on July 1 not having to count Polak/Carrick/Marincin/Corrado/Holland/Matthews/Marner

.... I estimate the most the Leaves could have offered Stamkos is roughly $10M.

If they had been able to buyout Cowan as planned they could've offered him close to $14M.

Now I could be wrong on this, but I seriously suspect Mr Cowan cost the Leaves Mr Stamkos!

I keep hearing Leafers all over the internet saying they have tons of cap-room.

Well that's not actually true right now.

Oh sure, they will have tons of cap-space... but not until the beginning of the season

(when they can put all those players on LTIR - Horton$5+Robidas$3+Lupul$5.2+Cowan$3.1 = $16.3M).

Until then they are severely hamstrung and thank you Mr Cowan! :mex:
