You can wake up from your booze haze at any time now Jim.

We probably don’t even have the money to bring back Fantenberg

Clearly the Aquilinis have taken the cheque book away. Where was this restraint in previous years when all the damage was done. I like Elmer’s savvy drafting the kids but we need someone running the purse strings here and have for a while.
Holy shit! Madden and a 2nd round pick turns out to be a steep price to pay for just 17 games and a peeky-boo in the POs. Might have been different without the Covid mess.
Unless the cap starts going up, the Canucks aren’t adding many players with large contracts for many years. As the bad deals come off the books all of their salaries will be taken by resigning RFAs, Petey, Hughes, Demko next year, Boeser the year after. Green better get used to incorporating ELC prospects into the line-up for the next decade. No way Benning is adding three defensemen this coming season. Maybe one top four and one depth guy, like Fantenberg. Some of these prospects will play, I wouldn’t rule our Rathbone or Woo even if they could use some AHL time. More likely Juolevi, Rafferty, Chatfield because they’ve been cooking in the AHL for a while. It just depends on how they play in camp. Rafferty should not be disqualified because he is balding, one-eyed, or yellow-toothed. Dental condition never stopper Tanev, one-eyedness never stopped Ohlund, baldness never stopped Sundin, and they were all good Canucks. Let’s judge the guy on his play once he gets a chance at the NHL level in camp.
Juolevi will be on the team this year and he's be fine as long as his confidence level stays good. After that, I think our best is Rathbone. Never know, with a good camp and guys like Quinn around, maybe.

While D was a weakness last year, I think we'll end up with the same or less level of talent. This will be a weird year, and I'm ok with a sideways step, while the kids develop and the shitty contracts age a year.

There may will be some really frustrating horrible games, but it will still be a good time to be a Canucks fan. :)

Rathbone is already 21, so it is not like some 18 year old coming right out of his draft year. It is not unheard of for good college players to join NHL teams right away.

Ratbones is a legit prospect, so is Woo but they are nowhere near ready. The other guys mentioned earlier are mostly fodder. Olaf is 171 pounds and plays with little to no passion, Rafferty is 29, has yellow teeth, one eye and hardly any hair. Brisebois and Chatfield get their heads kicked in in the AHL.

There is no way for anyone to know whether or not Rathbone/OJ/Rafferty is ready, that's what training camp is for...

Give COVID another year and those just might be "middle class" jobs.

Maybe they can sign and reprogram Tryamkin, give him some angry pills or something, and get him to skate around in this for pre-games.

Legit top 4 young D man. Sakic is a gem. The dumb dumbs who like to piss away picks don’t understand the value of them as trade capital. Elmer is looking for his Mickey

Meh... not so sure. He an offence guy that needs the pp reps that QH will get. Hopefully Elmer can stumble into a couple competent D men. I doubt Hughes and Pettersson want to just chalk it up to a rebuilding year(s), and Benning doesn’t have a shitload of rope.
