The question is... does he want to pay the price?

No doubt he could pull the trigger on something IF AP is interested in signing here.

That picture above is actually Carl Yagro's baby, great job Carl!

I'm open to a sweetener if it doesn't involve any of our 2021 1st rounder or Pod. Anybody else, even Hog, I might be willing to part with if it means AP.

If someone asked me a week ago would you trade Markstrom, Toffoli, and Tanev for AP and Holtby, I would ask that sumbitch if his head is right for asking such an asinine question. Duh!!! In a heartbeat! AP may not solve all our D problems but would come pretty damn close. Quinn and AP on the top unit, are you fuckin' kidding me?? Closest thing we'll ever come to Anaheim's Neidermeyer & Pronger.

Shit man, if he's even remotely possible go after it hard, JB! Cement your legacy.

Think Marky and Tanev were so hurt/insulted by being ignored they both chose the best way at payback, by joining a rival?

Nope. They are going there to die.

We will walk the flames next year thanks to them.

Guess Tanman wasn't willing to offer such a massive hometown discount, signing an Edler type contract.

Can't really blame him, but it's kind of sad to see a good dude like Chris go... especially to a rival.

Short term I think the Flames have done well but think the length of the contracts could come back to haunt them, wonder if Tanev got a NMC too?

Agreed, he was massive in the playoffs. I put him right up there among our most underrated defensemen alongside Salo & Lidster. Good dude, I'll miss him but he was an undrafted freebie (one of the too few good moves by Gillis) who gave us a lot of good years so we got more than our share and time for change for both sides.

too bad to see Tanev go, but such is life in modern hockey - ( fuck the flames)

Looks like Benning has some work to do now. #understatement

Hope Tanev gets hurt in the first game.

Hope Markstrom lets in the first shot in the first 30 games.

I hope JB doesn't get desperate and try to quickly re-sign Stecher.

To keep this franchise moving forward without your previous top-pairing Dman, JB is going to have to find a way to acquire an equal if not better top-pairing RHD.

Trying to push guys like Myers or Stercher up a role is not going to cut it.

AP is a pipedream. The likeliest scenario now is we've got $ for Barrie, tho spitballing but wouldn't be surprised. Honestly I would've rather retained Tanev over Barrie. Barrie won't solve our horrid d-zone coverage problems and will only add to it. Not too many right shots left so I can totally see us landing him. It's patchwork time.

Never too soon. Anybody who's not a Canuck anymore is not a Canuck anymore and instant enemy.

Remember folks. Columbus just gave away Ryan Murray and Markus Nutivaara for a fifth round draft pick and Cliff Pu, respectively and that's a rough equivalent pair to Stecher/Tanev. Owners are instructing gms to unload contracts, finding a couple of defencemen in this climate should be easy.

Too many high-glove goals in the playoffs to dipshits like Perron and Shcenn for my liking to give him an Eriksson-esque contract with a NMC. The best thing about today is I am fucking stoked that Demko is our guy! He fought so hard to level the playing field when it was clearly men against boys against Vegas and dang near pulled it off alone. He deserves the vote of confidence just on those 3 games alone. I love players who fight that hard, we've had way too few in our history. Time for everyone in Canuckland to get on the back of our future Vezina and Conn Smythe winner.

Apparently Columbus is now offering up Savard, he'd be sweet to have on the right side.

There are plenty of ways to go here, patience is key...
