Don't give up on White, he's leading his team in scoring:

Can someone explain to me why a team in GERMANY would call themselves "the Indians"??

Good point Vader, looking back, twas a strange draft year indeed!

Easy, it's an homage to Frolunda:

Maybe because it's the one ethnic group they haven't tried to exterminate at one time or another. So nobody takes offense?

LOL, but Sweden actually has Indians David. They live in the north of the country and follow the migrating herds of cariboo around and shit.

Ask Per, I'm sure he's tossed a few quarters in their cups.

Which is, ironically, part of an even greater conspiracy. What a world!

(otherwise someone would've offered up more than a 5th round pick for the former 10th overall)
Pat White has some company that draft year:
Thomas Hockey - 4th
Zach Hamill - 8th
Ellerby - 10th
Alex Plante - 15th
Colton Gillies - 16th
Angelo Esposito - 20th
Riley Nash - 21st

Quality players that went after White (before the 4th round) include
David Perron - 26th
PK Subban 43rd
TJ Galliardi - 55th
Nick Spaling - 58th
Wayne Simmonds - 60th
Dana Tyrell - 47th

I'm not defending that terrible selection of White, but it wasn't like there was a bunch of future hall of famers taken right after him. Maybe that's why they went so far off the board that draft year?
Add
Logan MacMillan 19th
Nick Petercki 28th
Nick Ross 30th
Alexi Cherapanov 17th

to the list of guys who have yet to get a cup of coffee in the NHL

Kyle Turris isn't a name you think of when you say lottery pick, neither is Van Riemsdyk...

Jamie Benn went 129th! Probably a top 10 pick if you could do it over

Jamie Benn and Patrick Kane are the best players of the 2007 draft IMO. With P.K. Subban rounding out the top 3. Wow, the 2007 Draft was truly horrible. Then after that it's Sutter, Turris, Galiardi, Perron, Simmonds, Voracek, Pacioretty, Gagner, McDonaugh, Eller, Shattenkirk, Alzner, Brenden Smith, Frattin, Van Reimsdyk, Dwight King, Keith Aulie and Spaling. That's pretty much it.
