Old being subjective.
That album is from '82.
I consider anything from that era to be new. My music was 60s and early 70s. I never listened to punk and whatever shit came after that. I have a great stereo (at least 20k value) and I have around 650 vinyl LPs, 150 cassette tapes and about 100 CDs - and it's mostly classic rock, country and Raggae. The only time we have any music on these days, is for background when we have people over.
Not to be nitpicking, but isn't most of the best reggae late 70's, early 80's?
Uprising, Exodus, Kaya... Legalize It, Equal Rights...? And Inner Circle before they were mainstream.
I guess I should clarify - Classic rock from the 60s and early 70s. Most of the country and Raggae are more recent. For Raggae, I like Gregory Issacs, Third World, Burning Spear, just to name a few. Also have a lot of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.

Ah, OK. Gotcha!
Back in 1982 when I was an exchange student in Iowa I shocked a black store clerk in Des Moines by having a "Bob Marley - Main Man" pin on my jacket. "Do you even know who that is?" she asked. She had never met a white guy who listened to reggae before. Guess it wasn't that big in Iowa back in the day.

Similar story - We used to spend the winters in Phoenix, and I was walking into a Costco wearing a Bob Marley T shirt - 2 black women who were obviously from the Caribbean wanted to buy the T shirt from me

Have you ever visited Cambodia?
Living in Jamaica has made me hate reggae, especially Bob Marley, that I used to listen almost exclusively to.
To me it is like wearing a Che T-shirt.
60's and 70's music is what I grew up with my older siblings playing in the house. Punk, jazz, country is my finds.

While I do like Marley, my favorite Raggae artist is Gregory Isaacs (RIP).

Fuck music, move your hips to the Gregory beat.
I saw him at a small outdoor venue behind a modelling agency in Kingston. It was almost across the street from my place.

+wife and dog…
Seems the wife died one week before him from having contracted hanta virus disease.
Hackman had advanced alzheimer’s and probably never knew what was happening. Died one week later from cardiovascular reasons.
The dog was crated and probably starved to death, or I guess lack of water is what would do you in first.

Former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan. I've been enjoying the podcast he and David Coulthard have been doing and he came out publicly on the podcast to tell listeners of his deteriorating health.
