We gave up a 1st for JT Miller, Boston gave up a first for a guy with 7 goals this season to ditch Backes. Then there's Toronto giving up a 1st just to get rid of Marleau.
With the fairly-big deadline deal for Toffoli, its pretty clear that the cap has not hindered any deals - I'd read that LA would have retained, but Benning declined to lessen the acquisition price. In terms of this Simmonds deal supposedly scuttled by the cap, I really don't care about Wayne Simmonds and wouldn't give up much more than a 4th and a salary dump anyway. Simmonds was brutal after the TDD last year for Nashville, and I could see several other reasons why Benning wouldn't pull the trigger.

Bowen Byram with a couple more points last night. He has 20 points in his last 10 games! Up to 42 points in 43 games now. Colorado’s D is going to be sick in a year or 2. Joe Sakic is the best GM in the game.

The Sabres currently hold the 8th worst record in the NHL. In the 2019 draft they selected 7th. That’s a vast improvement #tankhockeyisguaranteed

Miles Wood is THE porn name. I mean it’s not Karl Hungus... but it’s pretty good. Jackie Treehorn would give him a job.
